While there is a lovely small pousada on this beach with good food and ambiance, the beach is not so great to be consistantly considered one of the best in Brazil. I've been there frequently and each time try to understand why it makes all those lists in Brazilian publications. It is nice to stroll along. It is just south of the small town of Porto de Pedras.

Praia do Patacho deserves all its raving reviews. My husband and I were staying in Japaratinga and decided to spend the day there. As most comments on Tripadvisor said there was no infrastructure, we did't plan to stay there long. But to our surprise, there were quite a few vendors selling all kinds of beverages. They also partnered with local restaurants so we could order food right from the beach. These vendors ( we chose Seu Didi) also offered free chairs and beach umbrellas for free! The beach is gorgeous, with white sand and green warm waters just like the ...the coconut trees lining it make the place a Hollywood film setting. There are no restaurants or houses on the beach, just a few luxury pousadas. Most definitely the most beautiful beach I've been to.

Patacho is a beautiful beach with hardly anybody except some fishermen who put out their nets during low tide or stroll to the natural pools. Some of them can bring you there by boot during high tide but it's worthwhile to do this walk yourself during lowtide. Don't forget to check the scedule as high tide comes rolling in quickly and may surprise you!

We stayed at this beach for a week and the busiest was in a weekend. During the week it was very few people and we could walk for an hour without passing many people.
All the palm trees makes this beach special

Definitely on my top 5 best beaches !
Massive tourism has not yet arrived in the region , therefore during the week it feels you have the beach for yourself.
A must. Together with the others in the region (Praia de Lages, Toque, Porto de Pedras, etc. )

Patacho is a beautiful beach but not nicer than where we stayed - Sao Miguel dos Milagres. The sea is blue and green and beach quite quiet and empty but if you want to have a water or a beer, better bring yourself...

Such an amazing quiet gem in the away from most people, calm, clean and beautiful water, that stays waist deep for almost 100 feed out - ALWAYS keep an eye on the tide, it changes throughout the day.

To get to patacho you must drive through the “green tunnel”. For about one kilometer the vegatation on the road closes in to make a full fledged tunnel. This is just the first impression on Patacho, one of the clear tuorquise water beaches of alagoas. Here you can visit the green pools that form when the tide recedes. A wonderful place to rest and enjoy the sun
