I'd been wanting to do a Poor Knights dive trip and an underwater photography course for a while and decided to combine it with Global Dive’s Poor Knights trip.
The team are so professional and take the time to explain everything in detail, make sure you’ve got the right gear plus having fun along the way.
Andrew ran my underwater photography course and he was brilliant. The first part were class type lessons before a session in the Newmarket pool. I already had a camera and appropriate housing but they do hire them if you want to try before you buy.
The Poor Knights trip was a few weekends later and an incredible highlight. The liveaboard boat (2 nights) was fantastic. Great set up, friendly bunch of people at a variety of levels. The Global Dive team made sure that the experienced divers were not compromised by having novice divers on board (Global Dive run the Advanced Course on this trip also).
7 brilliant dives. Great meals on board and plenty of down time between dives to enjoy the sun and the Poor Knights location. The team made sure everything was run smoothly.
I hired most of my gear and it was in great condition, almost new.
I’d highly recommend this trip (and the underwater photography course) to anyone.
Trip costs approx $450, hire gear on top of this but very reasonable.

My husband and I had booked Anna from Global Dive as a personal guide for a trip to the Poor Knights, as my husband wanted some one-on-one attention after a couple of not so good diving experiences. We went out to the Poor Knights on a boat from Yukon Dive and Anna delivered absolutely outstanding service. My husband is back to being happy with diving, and I had one of the best if not the best days' diving I have ever had, partially thanks the totally stunning dive sites at the Poor Knights, but mostly thanks to Anna's great help and awesome knowledge. I would not have seen half the amazing sights during the two dives if Anna had not done such an awesome job of finding and pointing them out.

I needed someone to give me some careful mentoring to regain confidence after a couple of unpleasant experiences. Discussed this with Anna at Global Dive, who recommended a refresher course first - which I did the following week with one of their instructors (Louise). The refresher was very professionally run and a good experience in Newmarket Pool.
Then came the big step - back into open water. Discussed with Andrew (who own this business with partner Anna, and booked Anna to join my wife & I for 2 dives at the Poor Knights. The boat was Dive Yukon - Arrow. Anna did a great job of taking me steadily and calmly through getting the gear together and into the water for 2 awesome dives - great guidance on buoyancy control, a brilliant job at pointing out the wonderful marine life, all up a great experience and I am now feeling very much more confident than I was before - back to normal I think.
A great day - thanks Anna!!
