A life time experience For a French man like me, going to Eden Park it is something incredibly special. I learn to play rugby in a small town Caussade in the south west of France, back in the early 60’s. So, to us the All Black was the excellence to be achieved. I had to wait to be 66 to finally made my way to this glorious stadium and what a special day it was. The first game since lockdown, 14 of June 2020 section 410 ..the game… Blues V Hurricanes and I was there LIKE 46,000 other one( I believe a record for a Blues). Thank you, New Zealand, for your gift, your passion, your country and above all to be Kiwi. By the way, the name of our coach in Caussade was Michel Artigaut.

Just loved the atmosphere and the park. Very clean, well laid out with helpful staff even those directing traffic on the roads surrounding the park. The sound system was poor but didnt spoil the first game of rugby again at Eden Park.

I was here for a work conference. Nice facilities, well maintained and clean. Good public transport links with the train station in easy walking distance.

We wanted to take in the NZ National sport of Rugby, so went to Eden Park to watch the Auckland 'Blues' plat a game. The stadium was easy to navigate, the concessions and bathrooms were fine. It was a beautiful evening and we all had a terrific time. Parking was difficult as we drove and didn't get there very early to find a place. We did not do a tour.

The guy who took us round was formerly in charge of the stadium and has written a book on it's history. He has seen every big game there since the war, and his knowledge and enthusiasm for the place was evident. We did all the things I would expect, such as the hospitality boxes and the changing rooms despite the need to change the route as a major exhibition was being set up. What was not expected was a chance to walk on the turf and stand under the posts, a first for me in a number of such tours. A word of warning though. The tour was advertised at 90 minutes, but our guy had so much to tell us that it was just short of three hours. Might be a bit much for a casual visitor, but I thought it was wonderful.
