Only a 10 minute $4 train trip from britomart, auckland central train station, there is a lot of variety in the shopping here from boutique shops to the westfeild mall (average mall) plenty of clothes shopping for my partner and even for me. (she loved the boutique home and gift shops) plenty of good cafes. Clean and tidy streets.

New Market is good for higher end shopping but you still have everything else you need in one spot. as well as that you have a whole bunch of cafes to stop of and have good food. getting a train from Britomart station (downtown Auckland) only takes 8-10 minutes and is dirt cheap.

If you're looking for shops, mall or streetside they're not in Auckland central, they're in Newmarket. The good news is, if you are like me and on my own with only my wits to guide me, you can get a train to newmarket from the Britomart station (downtown Auckland). It takes 8 minutes one way and cost $1.90. Easy as.

Starting with the very expensive cars and super cars plus some very up market shops mixed with more affordable places New Market is a great place to dream about spending that ellusive lotto win.

Newmarket has lost a lot of its charm - tacky $2 shops and fast food. Get back on the Link bus and head down the hill to the unique Parnell shops!

Broadway is full of shops .however it is a little sterile . I buy shoes there. Behind Broadway there is lane, Teed Street which is better and at times can be a little funky and with the Nutfield street area which has lovey heritage building lifts Newmarket and is where i like to hang out. The Rialto Cinema complex which... More
