Great spot for views for all over Auckland and write out to sea. Would recommend both day and night. Night especially when there is a fireworks show in Auckland as this provides the perfect viewing spot. Also, a good place to grab some fish and chips and enjoy an outdoor dinner while looking over the harbour. Would recommend for Summer... More

Catch the Devonport ferry from Auckland city. It's a short 10 minute ride and then a 10 minute walk through the village shops (if you can stop yourself from browsing along the way) and up the hill. I wouldn't recommend taking the usual route which leads up a steep road shared by vehicles, but continue walking up Victoria Rd and... More

We want on the ferry to visit devonport than we walk to the mt victoria which is a 10-20 minute walk to the summit. The walk to the summit is not that hard at the summit the view was BEAUTIFUL Auckland is all is beauty and devonport is really big. They're were a story about the victoria fort which as... More

The Mount Victoria Reserve view is well worth a little bit if sweat equity to walk up it. It is only about 10 minutes from the ferry landing.

We loved it here! Hiked up the hill for about 10-15 minutes and saw amazing and breathtaking views of Auckland and the surrounding areas that you just can't see elsewhere. I recommend it to anyone who wants to see another perspective of the city and enjoy a nice, peaceful view!

We jumped onto a express bus at Devenport that took us on a drive through town. The driver knew the area well and went out of his way to give us as much info as he could. We went up the steep path to the top of Mt Victoria and what a view. We were blessed with a rainbow that... More

We took a ferry to Devonport mainly because we wanted to check up on the view from Mt. Victoria. It is supposed to have the best view of Auckland and I really think it has. You can just sit there and relax, clear your mind and enjoy the view and fresh air.

We had walked up North Head a couple of days before and decided to try Mount Victoria. Another very easy and pleasant walk up. Quite a number of people up there. It is driveable as well as walkable. Good views of Auckland and over Devonport. If you have to make a choice between the two walks, we would recommend North... More

Quite a climb, but well worth it. The views of Auckland are wonderful and the history is interesting. Even tho there was some light rain you could see for a long way.

Before climbing up, just make sure the long white cloud is hiding somewhere. On a cloudless sunny day this trip becomes one of the best walks in Devonport. A 360 degrees view of Devonport and a panoramic sight from Auckland will be your reward after climbing it up.
