Out of season the road train doesn't run, but we drove in our hire car. Be aware of the sat nav - ours took us through Anthousa village, up a teeny tiny road, to a car park. There was a footpath marking 1300m to the castle - mostly straight up! It was a lovely walk - very uphill though - past olive groves and with beautiful views. Imagine our suprise to discover another road we had to walk up - with parking right outside the castle.... doh.
So I would say if you want to make it a good outing, hike up the hill. If you want a quick visit - check the map a bit more! At the castle itself there isn't much to see - no information boards or anything - and it isn't very big so isn't a long excursion on its own. Amazing views down to Parga and along the coast though.

Went on this land train trip leaving from Parga beach. There was a commentary from the excellent guide who then escorted us around the castle. There are tremendous views over Parga and beyond and the knowledgeable guide gave a history of the castle and then pointed out the main viewpoints and answered any questions. The whole trip lasted about 90 minutes and cost €8 pp which we thought was good value.

Wonderful views down onto Parga but would benefit from more info boards on site to explain the history. We got most of what we learned from watching a YouTube video on it.

You can walk by there and also visit the Anthousa village and a great taverna on a river bank. The castle is a ruine, and you need maybe half an hour to climb and explore the area.

One of the best monuments in the region but no one had done something to fix it. The view is fantastic and the kids will love it

Paid 7euros each for this 2 hour trip. The train leaves the harbour/beach of Parga and takes you to the castle. You do enter the castle grounds at your own risk. I would recommend good footwear. The train guide is very knowledgeable, he gave us lots of history on the area and the castle. On the way back to Parga we had a short stop off at a small village. This trip is worth the 7 euros.
Due to Covid - the train worker sterilised all the seats before getting onto the train :)

It's a great site because it makes history come alive. It's thrilling to actually walk around the places that we are taught in history at school.

You do not have to take the train to go to the castle, you can also access it with your car.

The castle definitely worths a visit, however it needs a bit of maintenance.
The view though is out of this world. You can see the whole city of Parga from above!

Lovely trip on a road train up to visit the Ali Pasha Castle including a very informative tour guide who knows the history of the castle, and also a stop off in Anthousa with enough time for a drink.
