About
Brewery tours run Monday to Sunday, starting from the Visitors Centre, they last approximately 2 hours. The first 1½ hours are spent around the brewery where you'll see our original steam engine, learn about our history and how we make our range of delicious beers. Once outside the Brewery, don't forget to keep an eye out for our working Shire horses, which still deliver beer to our local pubs. In any event, the tour of the brewery includes a tour of the stables so you won’t miss out on seeing these amazing animals. Upon completion of the tour, it's back to our sampling bar in the Visitor Centre for a ½ hour beer tasting. It is essential to book a Brewery Tour by contacting us on the phone or email. Costs from £12.50 - £15.00

Empty Glass Phobia
Dec 2021
What an amazing afternoon we had on the Brewery Tour with Leon. He has a wealth of knowledge and was great fun to have as a tour guide. And we liked his empty glass phobia. Loved seeing the Brewery Horses, hearing about the history of the Brewery and loved that it still is in its original building with all the original features. Well worth a visit.

Great brewery tour

A great tour, Peter the guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. The building and engineering is amazing. Highly recommended. We’ve done lots of brewery/distillery/winery tours and this one was the best. Topped off with a superb guided tasting…..

Birthday visit
Dec 2021 • Family
Five of us went round for a tour of the brewery for my birthday with Monty as our guide for the morning. He was very knowledgeable and engaging; the tradition of the place really sets it apart from other tours I've done and it was a nice touch to be able to see the horses there. Its worth noting that the tour takes you up and down the 3 or 4 floors of the building so there are a number of steps to walk up and down. The tour itself was very interesting, and at the end there was an opportunity to taste some of the beer - they were generous with their tasters! I would highly recommend.

Excellent brewery tour and delicious tasting!
Dec 2021 • Couples
We have visited other breweries around the country and this was the best of them! Leon was knowledgable and funny and gave us a lot of info at just the right level of detail. It was lovely to meet their Shire horses and taste all the brews at the end.So enjoyable!

Did the brewery tour and tasting with Leon.
Took some friends to show them the brewery which I have done twice before.
It’s interesting, informative and good fun.
The building is beautiful and the beer biblical.
Leon did a great job as a guide and barman!
We saw the new dray horse, a youngster I am looking forwards to seeing pull the dray in the future.
The facilities are excellent,parking ,restaurant,shop etc .
This is I think the best attraction in the Cotswolds.

Wonderfully quaint
Nov 2021
Started with a lovely breakfast at the Malthouse Kitchen then did the tour. The brewery is over a hundred years old and a lot of the Victorian equipment is still in use. It is wonderfully quaint. The tour guide was very interesting and informative and lasted about 2 hours, including a tasting session at the end.

MG Enthusiasts visit Hook Norton Brewery
Nov 2021
A bright and clear Sunday morning - but with a very cold northern wind saw myself and two other members of the MG Owners Club arriving at the famous Hook Norton Brewery. We had arrived early to ensure our place on a well attended visitor tour ably presented by our guide 'Monty' a gentleman of a certain age seeped in the mores of the Brewing Industry - and especially that of the Hook Norton Brewery. It was a fascinating tour; first a history of its family origins from its start to the present day, and then a short walk from the Visitor Reception Centre to the Main Brewery Tower itself. Starting on the ground floor, we made our way landing by landing and floor by floor to the top of the tower. Monty giving us the 'low-down' on every aspect of the brewing cycle and then back down again to the cellar bar for 'tasters'. And what a lovely piece of tasty we had as Monty talked us all through each different 'Real Ale' that was produced by the Brewery. This is just the sort of 'education' that I appreciate - given sufficient time, I am sure I could take a degree, followed by a 'Masters' without any trouble at all. On completion of our tour, which by the way included a visit to the stables where the working dray shire horses are stabled, we were able to visit the Hook Norton Museum and the Restaurant for lunch. Thereafter we were left to do a little bit of shopping in the visitors shop - where there was definitely something for everyone.
