Located in the Palace of the Marquis San Nicolás, which shares a building with the town hall, an old house divided into several floors has been recreated, and in which you can imagine the daily life of the local people, the trades that have already disappeared, the thousands of memories of yesteryear...
On the ground floor there is an exhibition with photos of current people from the town, who have collaborated in the recreation. The remaining floors house the different rooms, the objects used for different activities. It is a fabulous ethnological museum, which is worth visiting. Admission is free.

Helpful and friendly staff. An informative and interesting collection of historic household items giving an insight into the kind of items historically used. The descriptions are in Spanish, just in case you don't read Spanish.

Close to the N232 and located in a very small village surrounded by campo. The house itself is interesting and our room was fine, nice comfy bed

This small museum, with no admission charge, is situated at the top of the charming village of Briones. Do go and see Briones and out of season save your legs and drive to the top and see the wonderful views. In good weather you can see the Ebro and look across many famous wineries.

The museum is small but if you want to get an insight into Basque life, the skills and crafts they have and their way of life it will be rewarding. Bayonne has the best Basque Museum I have visited but it is miles away! If you like La Rioja as we do go here for less than an hour and you will enrich your understanding of these talented and resilient people.

Check opening hours on their website before you go. Ideal if you can spend some time in the impressive local church and take a meal or drink in the main square at the very top.
