There are few distinguishing landmarks, but look for the signs at the entrance to the track onto Les Landes Common at the top of the steep hill above L'Etacq. This is a restored section of the army battery 'Moltke' which once sprawled across the...more

We found this gun battery by accident really; just spotted the sign post at the end of the road. When we got to the site we frankly thought there wasn’t much to see, other than a large gun, some concrete emplacements, and that was it....More

We have not visited this battery before so it is another interesting piece in the jigsaw of the German defences from the period of occupation. Some great views along the cliffs and over 5 mile bay. Well worth the visit.

Interesting but a stark reminder of how things were back during the war. The whole coast is heavily fortified with concrete bunkers, gun emplacements etc. A walk along the coastal cliff tops is nice. For bird lovers I saw a Peregrine Falcon and a Dartford...More

This site is both surface and underground, so ideally visit when bunker is opened up by the CIOS. However, if your in the area, some fortifications can be easily accessed anytime. Great re-constructions and artefacts from the period, showing technical details and atmospheric conditions.

This battery is a German war emplacement. Some guns have been installed to give a better impression of how it would have been. There is some interpretation
