This was a magnificent carnival. Loved it. Well worth travelling to Jersey to see. Floats covered totally with flowers, grasses, leaves, anything flora. This year no height restriction and the winner 27 ft tall! Also superb and elaborate costumes, loads of bands and entertainers. Went in the afternoon and also going tonight to the lit evening parade with fireworks. A must see, loved it.

This is a worth while fantastic event, suitable for every age group. It's the annual carnival with a large number of floats decorated by hand mostly with flowers. Takes place over 3 days. Wednesday evening visit to view last minute preparations . Thursday afternoon for the first show parade. Friday night for the moonlight parade , this is when they add lights to the floats and street performers and finish off with a fireworks display over the water. Excellent event! Takes place during August.

Regrettably this unit was closed due to the recent demise of the elderly female owner. Residents hope that someone can be found to carry on the good work as it has proved a very popular location

I saw that someone reviewed this museum from just one month ago. I was heartened by this review and thought I'd visit myself. No one knew about the museum. It does not have an active website. After asking several people about it, I was told that it had closed permanently. I hope that I am wrong and that there is just minimal knowledge about it, but I'm afraid it is a museum that no longer exists.

For some reason Trip Adviser dont recognise the actual Parade as an attraction so I am having to review the 2014 Moonlight Parade on the museum page - sorry
We went to both the first and second parade. We should have saved the money for one of them. But the parade itself was fantastic.

Always an interesting time of the year is when Battle of Flowers is on as each parish on the island is responsible for competing in this annual event. The museum offers a great insight into the history of the battle of flowers.

For some reason Trip Adviser dont recognise the actual Parade as an attraction so I am having to review the 2010 Moonlight Parade on the museum page - sorry!!!!!
We attended the Moonlight Parade on the 13th August. We sat in the grandstand - tickets bought in advance over the internet at the Battle of Flowers website for £25. We were not disappointed.
About 20 really massive floats, a dozen smaller floats, half a dozen bands and incredible energy from the participants who sang and danced solidly for an hour and a half.
And a fireworks display to finish.
Well done to the island of Jersey.

On first sight the museum doesn't look very big or very much, but go inside and you might change your mind. The car park is large and located right next to the museum.
The museum is like a tardis, definitely bigger than you think it is going to be. It was not what we expected - we expected to see replicas of floats and actual flowers, but this is a museum dedicated to Florence Bechelet's entries over the years. Also don't expect many colourful flowers - the entries are made of burr-like grass which is coloured, but doesn't look like flowers.
The entries are very good and you can take photographs of them, although they are protected by high wire fences so that they do not get damaged. The lady on the entrance booth was chatty and helpful and told us a lot about the process of making the entries.
Entrance charge is high for the amount of time that you spend in there. There are no refreshments on site but there are toilets. Small selection of souvenirs as you come out of the museum. The museum is near to Jersey Pearl if you want a cafe after your visit.

Perhaps I should have down my research - but I had expected to see a museum that really showed off Jersey's Battle of the Flowers - perhaps with replicas of floats. Instead this is an exhibition of one lady's entries over a good number of years (50 at least I think). Clever undoubtedly, imaginative - but all a bit dusty and repetative

Hi, do you have to book tickets for the parade, or are there places that you can see the parade for free?

Unless you have friends who have a house along Victoria Avenue and who are willing to let you watch from their garden, you will need to buy tickets.
