Pleasant promenade

And also a pleasant walk! On one hand you see the river, wide sky and woods on the opposite shore. On the other hand there is a line of colorful small wooden houses with carved plat-bands on the windows, traditional Russian style. In the middle of the embankment you can find a rotunda. It has only pillars, but the acoustic in it is so miraculous, that you hear the echo even without walls!

Gorgeous view

Very nice place! Definitely its worth to take a walk there. Only in summer of course. Also there is a ferry available, it will take you to other side of Volga, it goes every 30 minutes. Not sure what to do on the opposite side though.

Many sights in Myshkin; but the Volga embankment is perhaps the most unforgettable
Aug 2015 • Family
Myshkin, small town on the banks of Volga River, sees a busy tourist attendance, also because it is a stopping point for tourist boats that sail along the river (in the case of cruises that depart from Moscow and that last for three days, this is the farther landing you reach).
The city has been able to take advantage of this tourist flow and well organized many of the sights it owns: historic homes, churches, traditional activities, ethnographic museums.
However, even the geographic location of Myshkin is an attraction in itself: in fact the city is built on a natural terrace overlooking a bend of Volga river, thus enabling a wide and impressive view of it.
The embankment of the Volga is therefore the most beautiful view of the city you can enjoy. Walking south of the landing point, and especially towards the north, the riverside pedestrian path allows to fully enjoy the views across the river; views that become fabulous if (as it happened to us) the weather is favorable.
The riverfront is also decorated with a semicircular temple, reminiscent of that of the near Yaroslavl; and the landing point is enlivened with stalls selling typical food products, such as smoked fish (including sturgeon) wonderfully tasting.
