It is not a Palace, it is not a castle, it is not a stately home, it is just a country house for our beloved Royal Family to spend the Christmas. With the garden, church, museum and house, lose the grandeur, luxury, shinny and bright decoration and scale, and enjoy a nice old warm family house!

Arrived via the No. 11 bus from King's Lynn -- £9.40 for two people, round trip. There is a restaurant (the food here was delicious; see photos below) and several gift shops, all of which are across the road from the ticket booth and entry to the long Woodland Walk, which provides fantastic initial views of the house. The house... More

Went with friend, arrived lunch time. After a snack in the restaurant walked to Sandringham House. It was lovely to be able to see inside this residence and the church the Royal Family when staying in Norfolk. Fabulous grounds and woods surrounding the estate. My friend and I really enjoyed our visit. Thank you

Truly brilliant to view the house and rooms where the royals sit and relax and where the Queen's Christmas broadcast is recorded. The staff were extremely helpful and answered any question you could throw at them. The motor museum was particularly fascinating to see the toys that Charles, Anne etc played with also the fire engine and state coaches. The... More

The grounds are lovely, but lacked the 'comfortable feel'. Maybe because your so aware it's a royal estate? The church was well worth a look, it was small but absolutely stunning. As for the house, well only a few rooms on show, and far too over stacked for me. I felt like I walked in the front door and got... More

Visitin the castle is very doable. It is handysized both in total and the individual rooms. Very knowledgable guides in each room mede for a very enjoyable visit. They were not pushy, but asked whether one had noticed s special item or feature before we left the rooms. Do look up the private drawings in the gun hall just before... More

Travelled quite a distance for this visit accompanied by our small well behaved dog, BUT, he was not allowed in the gardens. We didn't expect to be able to visit the house but surely walking around the gardens? What a waste of time! So dissapointing when the Royal family are dog owners themselves. We did however visit the church in... More

Visiting Sandringham House is an experience not to be rushed. Only a few of the rooms are open to view but these are so exquisite they really need time to drink in their serene beauty. The staff will tell anecdotes all day so listen and enjoy. They will answer any reasonable question especially if you have children doing the quiz... More

Beautiful fine day to view the house, museum and gardens. The house was rather disappointing - expected to see more rooms e.g. kitchen, bedrooms etc. The guides were very knowledgeable about the history of the house. The museum and grounds had much more to offer. The museum was very interesting offering a selection of different cars etc. to view. Make... More
