Foping Forest National Nature reserve and the Quinling Mountain reserves are shut to tourists other than those with special authorisation. Dapingyu Scenic spot is open to tourists. We drove up from Foping (about 30 min) You have to walk about 4 km uphill to see the golden monkeys. There is a shuttle that takes you for 2 of those km for 10 rmb. It is highly recommended. If you stay at the hotel on the premises you can also drive your car to the same place that... More

It is a good season to view cherry blossom, also a good season to explore the mysterious of Qinling Moutain. We have seen lots of animals there like Golden Monkeys and Golden Pheasants. My wife and I visited in October 2014. Here we were supposed to see three types of animals, Golden Monkeys, Pandas, and Golden Pheasants. Lets start with the good things. Foping National Nature reserve is a remote area in the qinling mountains. Travelling to the place is not easy for people who are not able to speak chinese.
