This little abbey is roughly two miles hike from the harbour. It's a very easy walk with breaktaking panoramic views. You need to get the key from the shop, which is the building just in front of the abbey as you walk up towards it....More

Get the key from the shop, it's well worth a visit, if only for the painted ceiling, painstakingly restore by a team of experts in the late 90s.

The Abbey houses the O’Malley Tomb, supposedly the burial site of Gráinne O’Malley the 16th century pirate queen of Ireland! It also has really well preserved medieval wall paintings.
