Beautiful

A fabulous little church in the middle of nowhere, well worth stopping if you are in the area. The legend has it that the locals were asked to put a cross up to the virgin to stop the lava and it did, then the church was erected to celebrate the miracle

One of the oldest one and quiet church in that zone.

It does not matter what's your religion. This old chapel is believed to have been built because people prayed the 'Dolores Virgin' to stop the lava flow, and She did, according to the legend. As a favour, they constructed this shrine.

Beautiful Church
Feb 2020
We stopped here for our meal, after touring the volcanos. We were told this was built, as this is where the lava stopped after the last great eruptions on the island.

Quick Stop
Nov 2019 • Couples
This little church is really quaint. We noticed it on the way to Timanfaya the day before but decided on this occasion to stop. It’s built in a traditional Canarian style with pumice floors and white washed floors. Inside it has wooden pues and is surprisingly bright with the glazed dome over the altar. We only stopped for about 20 minutes, and unless you’re going to stop for a while to pray, contemplate or light a candle there is no need to stay longer. But it’s a beautiful church which is very peaceful and is well worth the pit stop as you drive through Mancha Blanca.

There is sufficient space for a wheel chair along the main aisle and also has step free access.

Beautiful church
Oct 2019 • Couples
I’ve visited this church a few times. I’m not religious, but enjoy going here as it’s very peaceful and beautiful to look at. You can light a candle for a loved one, sit and take in the architecture or simply wander around.
The farmers market across the road is also nice to wander around.

A little but significant church for Lanzarote
Aug 2019
We came across this church on our way to Timanfaya National park. It is a small church, but has huge significance for the people of Lanzarote. There is a cafe and shop across the road from the Church. You will also find toilets which are reasonably clean near here.

One of Lanzarote’s beautiful but tiny chapels, well worth a visit if you are on that side of the island.

Beautiful Church with a Great Story and Many Photo Opportunities
Jan 2019 • Solo
If you enjoy touring local churches or you are just a photography buff, this is a must stop on your travels in Lanzarote. Church is in excellent condition and although it is small, it has great decorations that aren't excessive. The story behind the name of this church is fantastic and is covered in detail at the church or can be found online, if interested. Plenty of parking and a nice local restaurant and snack bar is found across the street.
