My husband and I travel full time in our self-converted sprinter van. We've been to 13 countries so far, and our day out with Senja Husky Adventure was by far and away our most enjoyable experience!! We chose this location over others because it's a family run business and they have actual Siberian Huskies where as other locations did not have huskies and were only interested in payment from tourists. Senja Husky Adventure proved to be better than we could have imagined. We arrived about 20 minutes early - something you should plan to do in case you hit traffic/get lost (it's important to pay attention to, and factor in the weather, too) - and we were immediately welcomed warmly by Jonny and the amazing huskies!! The dogs are so friendly and affectionate. We went into a small building where we put on large snowsuits, wool socks, boots and thick mittens. Dress appropriately though underneath - good base layers, thick socks, scarf/snood, hat, etc. Sunglasses are also a good idea to have on hand. All of the snowsuits have a breast pocket zipper so it's a great place for your phone. If you're the passenger, it's easy to take photos and videos as you go. When you're the musher, it can be a little counterintuitive at first but it's easy to pick up and get going. If you're turning right, your weight goes to your left leg, then the opposite to turn left. Don't worry if you fall off while mushing (I fell twice! No biggie!) You'll land on lovely soft snow. Just be sure to call to your passenger that you've fallen off so they can throw the "emergency brake." Jonny was super patient with everyone who fell. We were lucky that I only fell twice and my husband never fell, but the other couples we were with struggled a bit more. It may have slowed us a bit, waiting for the others to get going again, but it gave us an opportunity to take in the gorgeous views! We took amazing photos and videos, this was just absolutely the best day! We cannot recommend this experience enough! These dogs are amazing, and very well looked after. Their owners definitely love them very much. Senja is also a gorgeous island to explore so it's well worth the trip. If we ever return to Norway, and I sure hope we do, we are definitely coming back!

We had the most amazing day at Senja Huskys. The sled ride was so fun and such a unique experience. I was driving and you go through amazing countryside. Johnny is very friendly and easy to talk too. He loves his dogs and you can see that in how they interact with him. The dogs are beautiful animals that love cuddles and pats. I had a great time and it was up there with seeing the Aurora for me in senja.

Best dog sledding experience ever! Very authentic experience, you get to ride and also drive the sled.. unfortunately I was a horrible driver due to a recent injury so I was scared to drive. Jonny’s instructions were clear and all the dogs are loving and friendly. Would highly recommend if you’re in Senja!

What a fantastic morning we had today visiting these gorgeous Siberian Huskies. They were so well behaved, I was amazed how patient they were waiting to go out, they loved cuddles and we managed to get round all 30! When they knew it was time to go the switch to noise level was amazing! The trip out was fantastic in new snowfall but I think what made it so special was the time we spent with the dogs both before and after we went out, not rushed and so far from the commercialised packages you get. Loved, coffee and chat in the hut after with the young dogs joining us. Really made our trip to Senja, thank you Jonny for sharing your love of these beautiful dogs with us, to spend time with them was a privilege we wont forget. We hope you get to take them on that dream trip to race Alaska one day!

This truly an amazing experience, you are going to be able to drive your own sledge which is very exiting. At the end you are going to share time with the dogs and that is going to stay in your mind forever.
