We had family visiting from out of town and had purchased parasailing tickets several days in advance. When we arrived at Timber Cove for our parasail adventure, the winds picked up and our outing was canceled due to safety concerns. We were disappointed but understood the reasons. We appreciated the clear explanation from the vendor and received a full refund within a few days. Even though we didn't get to sail, I would recommend these guys based on how they handled this situation. Be aware though, their location is not easy to find -- it's on the pier at Timber Cove, and there are no obvious signs to point you to their location. We called their office to get directions.

We have been renting boats on Lake Tahoe for the last 15 years. This was our first time to use Lakeside Marina/Action Watersports. Couldn’t ask for a better experience and fantastic service. We rented a 25 ft pontoon that was in perfect condition. Daniel and Ryder were so accommodating for us since the wind came up unexpectedly and we had to change dates. We will definitely rent from them again. Hopefully next year!

We had a great experience with the staff. We had a morning reservation for a half day rental boat to go wakeboarding and tubing, the staff was ready and organized with all paperwork to get on the lake quickly. We were a party of 6 and had a couple kids in the group and our dog! The boat was a great size, in good condition and kept us shady throughout the rental. The staff made sure we were familiar with all the safety requirements (The girl that gave us the instructions kinda reminded us of the funny southwest flight attendants instructions, to the point, but made us laugh!) gave us tips about Emerald bay (this was the guy that went over the boat instruments), and he suggested the best route to drive the boat to maximize the time of rental. Once we got back, they filled up the gas and it was a quick checkout process. All in all we had a good experience on Lake Tahoe - Thanks to all the staff at Action watersports - Lakeside Marina!
Our tip is what we were told when we made the reservation, book earlier in the day because the crowds come in the afternoon - and they sure did!
Service: 5/5
Quality of boat: 5/5
Quality of wakeboard: 4/5 (boots were a little worn in)
Quality of tube: 5/5
Knowledge: 5/5
Friendliness: 5/5
Overall Experience: 5/5
We would use and recommend this company to family’s looking to enjoy a boat rental out on Lake Tahoe!

Overall had a good time. However, wasn't too enthused about shelling out $219 for fuel after maybe 3 hours of 3/4 throttle cruising around the lake. Was told when we took off that none of the gauges worked on the boat, which was true. We were also assured that the gas tank was full, but based on the enormous amount of fuel required to fill the boat back up after we returned, we couldn't help but think we got shammed a little bit and that the boat wasn't quite full when we took off. Hard to imagine we consumed a whole 24 gallons during the 3 hours or so we were cruising. Still a good experience, just felt like we got bent over a bit at the end with a $219 fuel bill on top of the $750 we spent...What would be nice is if they topped off the fuel tank in front of you when you left so you had some assurance it was actually full.

My friend and I rented a jet ski and did parasailing. Both activities were a lot of fun and I would recommend them to anyone interested in a little adventure out on the lake. That said, be aware that the Parasailing, in my experience, DOES NOT follow sanitation and social distancing guidelines. Your party boards a boat with all other parties that booked the same time as you. Which is fine, you can all social distance aboard... BUT My friend and I were the only ones who wore a mask, while everyone else sat around without one. Even the boat driver and operator weren't wearing a mask, and they did not enforce the others aboard to wear one. We were the last group to go up, and unfortunately they had each group use the SAME life-jackets. FOUR different people wore the same life jacket that was then given to me for my ride. Aside from the unsanitary and unsafe operations, our flight was wonderful.

I had a terrible experience at this place! The people were very rude. While I was taking photos of the scenery and the kids playing by the shore, the boat driver called me a "creepy person" for no reason. I think she might have had a traumatic experience in her past, or maybe she watches too much Netflix. On top of that, they charge an extra $100 if you want to get pictures of yourself parasailing. I would recommend finding another place, as it's not worth it.

We’ve rented boats here 5 years in a row— unfortunately this year the boat was dirty, multiple gauges were broken and was not ready upon arrival. Staff was difficult and unwilling to credit us for the unused time. We’ve spent over $10,000 on rentals here and will likely find a new spot after this experience,

We actually booked a sailing cruise many weeks prior to our arrival, however, the boat was out of commission (and apparently had been for awhile but the online system wasn't coded to reject reservations for the sailboat). The marina did call us a few days in advance to let us know the boat wasn't running, but I didn't get the message prior to showing up at the marina for the cruise (which was my issue, not the marina's issue).
Upon arrival at the marina, the staff did give us the option of a refund, but given we were all ready to get out on a boat, the staff switched us over to the super speed boat one hour excursion, which is a boat that goes about 65 miles an hour. I was a bit disappointed to be on a super speed boat vs. a nice relaxing sailboat, but hey, it's vacation...you go with the flow. Can't be crabby in Tahoe...it's too beautiful!
If you are looking for a super speed boat, I'm sure this is an enjoyable adventure. I personally don't prefer cruising down a lake at 65 mph, getting bounced around a lot, and having to hold on for dear life and waking up the next day with a wind-burned face. That said, once we got to Emerald Bay and just cruised around for a bit, the trip was much more enjoyable. The captain was nice, fun and informative.

Awesome time! 👌🏾 This was my husband and I first time Para Sailing! Loved the whole experience! ❤️ Would highly recommend. We did this on our One Year Anniversary!
The crew was made up of two guys who made the ride comfortable and fun! They took pics for and had go pro footage for purchase! If you have an iPhone it syncs right to your phone.

Thanks so much.

Looking at jet ski rental. Website says must stay in designated area. What is the designated area?-enough to see sights or a circle in front of their marina?

Hi, we were at Lake Tahoe over July 4, the busiest summer weekend. There was a lot of boat traffic, so I'm not sure if it may be different at other times. We were told we could go past the brown water (close to shore) into the emerald green water. We could not go past into the deep blue water. There was a boat on each side that we had to stay between. So...you had a wide area to jet ski, but you could not go to Emerald Bay or around the lake or really close to the shore. The area was large enough for my kids, but not for sightseeing. Hope this helps!
