Great fishing charter with captain Bobby. He was very helpful as we are not “fishing experienced “. I mean I had never even baited a hook before. The lake was beautiful and not too choppy. (I don’t get seasick though). We were on the Hopper 5. It was a well equipped boat with everything you need to catch some fish. And boy, did we ever catch fish! 19 salmon and 1 trout between the 4 of us. It got really exciting when more than one pole had a fish on it at a time. Bobby cleaned our fish and we grilled them for dinner. So good! I definitely would recommend Tahoe Sport Fishing on your visit to Lake Tahoe.…

We knew going in there wouldn’t be any pole benders. Might’ve been more fight with some lighter tackle. Crew was very knowledgeable and did a good job getting us on fish. Kokanee we’re very soft mouthed and easy to lose. Caught our limit and took them to McDuffs, suggest blackened. Very good…

I wish I would have done more research and asked more questions before wasting our money. I wouldn’t say we are the most experienced fishers but def know what we are doing. This trip is solely for beginners/those that have never fished before or people that just wanna get on a boat and watch the captain and his deck hand catch all the fish while you occasionally help reel for minute in between hooking a fish. For example if it was your turn to participate (help reel it in to a certain point) not all the way though, they take over at the point the fish gets to the boat. I was very frustrated because I felt they took away all the fun parts of fishing for me. Dropping the line or casting, hooking one, bringing one on the boat, and taking the hook out of its mouth, I even enjoy baiting my own hook. Also, their equipment is far more advanced than what you are actually fishing for so you literally can’t even tell when a fish is on the line. So in my opinion, WE DID ZERO FISHING on this trip. They could have at least got to know our skill levels before and presented the opportunity for us to be more involved. It just felt like they weren’t into that at all, even when I tried to express that. There’s a lot more to do in LT, I would recommend skipping the fishing charter.…

I made a reservation ahead of time and I would suggest doing that online ahead of time. That way you pay for your trip and license at the same time. You can make a reservation and then pay the day of your trip at the company store but it takes more time. I booked a morning trip and it was a great choice. It is cooler in the morning and in my estimation, the fish are more active. I was by myself and a family of 5 from LA went on the same boat. 6 was the perfect size group. Dress in layers as suggested so that you will not be cold as it is cool on the lake in the morning. Captain Paul was awesome and pointed out the safety features prior to launch. You can bring your own food. He did have coffee and water on the boat. There is also a bathroom. Remember it is a fishing vessel so the bathroom is serviceable but don't expect more than it is. Captain Paul taught everyone how to fish for the lake trout. You are jigging in water up to 200 feet deep so expect some physical exertion. The bite was on and it was a lot of fun. We caught 11 trout and the scenery on the lake was beautiful. There is a mate to help as well. They clean the fish for you and you can take them to Macduff's Public House and they will cook them for you three ways and they are awesome! Be sure to plan so you can make a reservation to eat there. Take your fish and give them some time. For example I took my fish around noon and could have eaten them at 2:30. I chose the next day which was fine as well. On the way back to the dock, our boat hit something. Turned out it was somebody's jacket that was in the lake. It wrapped itself on the motor. Much to our surprise< Captain Paul went into the frigid water and freed it which was way above and beyond! The price is well worth the experience and the fish are marvelous to catch and eat! Perfect morning of fishing.…
