We took the 11 a.m. Lake Tahoe Bleu Wave cruise to Emerald Bay for our 45th Anniversary Celebration and we are so glad we chose them. We were greeted when we walked into their office, given our boarding passes and drink coupons, and told where to go to get on the boat. The boat was in tip top shape, and the crew, Captain Auggie and 1st Mate Charlie, were perfect hosts: wonderful, funny, and friendly. The narration as we cruised was very informative and interesting as well as additional information we asked about from Charlie. They had a wide variety of beers (including Sierra Nevada Pale Ale!) , wine, and champagne to choose from as well soft drinks, and tasty chips and crackers to munch on as we viewed the incredible scenery. It was an intimate cruise experience, unlike the larger mega boats on the lake. We plan to take the trip again next year and highly recommend it to anyone thinking about which cruise to take on the lake. Thank you Bleu Wave for a wonderful experience!

The cruise is nice, the boat is comfortable, and the crew was pleasant and accommodating, but I felt it was expensive. I don’t drink alcohol and they do offer nonalcoholic beverages, but obviously they are not as expensive as alcoholic beverages. The snacks consisted of small bags of Cheetos, Fritos, Goldfish, etc. I expected more for the price of the cruise.

I spent most of the time with the Captain in the upper bridge area. He was very knowledgable and interesting to talk to. I had a family of 11 with me and they all had a good time. The Captain was gracious enough to answer many questions about the surroundings, on and off mic. The day had been cloudy, but the clouds parted and the day was beautiful. The crew works on tips, and they were very attentive. They brought us free sodas and waters all morning. The boat has places you can observe that are wide open as well as closed off from the weather. BTW the Captain can put that boat in some very tight spaces. Way to go skipper!

The title of this cruise called scenic sunset cruise lane lake tahoe is misrepresented. Scenic could be acceptable but there was no real sunset at all because the sun was covered by the mountains around the lake. The sunset they are talking about is just the colour of the sun in the horizon giving an orange color on the western mountains. The price of $120 per person is very expensive for this activity even if you get one drink of alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages plus one small chips.

I signed my husband and I up for this tour by mistake thinking it was going to be a catamaran leaving from the ski run blvd marina. Once I realized I had booked us on a different type of boat , I tried cancelling within the 48 hours required but no one would answer the phone.. My husband and I drove to Tahoe Keys and walked along a very long pier to find someone. They said they did not give refunds , only credits. The boat looked old and run down but we figured we'd just go versus being $198 for nothing. This was supposed to be a cocktail cruise with appetizers. For $99 a person you get one drink ...either wine, beer or champagne. If you want anything else , you have to pay additional money. The "appetizers" are small bags of chips that anyone can purchase at Costco. There were a few families on board with lots of kids who looked bored and hungry. (I hope those kids didnt all get charged $99 each since all they got was a soda and chips. ) One family thanked me for joking around with their kids since no one else from the crew was interacting with them. I did give this experience two stars versus two since I liked the captain. He was funny when I spoke with him and knowledgeable of the lake. But my husband and I have been on several boat trips on Lake Tahoe over the years and this one was definitely at the bottom of the list. Those of you with big families will probably have more fun if you take the water taxi which is only $25 a person and has sodas and chips that you can purchase for a few dollars.

This 2 hour tour of Emerald Bay was a very nice way to see things up close on Lake Tahoe. Our captain, Steve, was very knowledgeable on local history, lake facts and points of interest . It was a “cloudy” night so we really didn’t see the sunset but it was very enjoyable none the less being on the water and getting a different perspective of the lake and it’s surroundings. I highly recommend this tour!

The scenery was spectacular! The staff was wonderful. The champagne and free drinks was a nice touch. The cruise was advertised as luxury and took two hours beginning at 11 am and ending at 1 pm. For the price of $300 per couple, it would be great if they offered a veggie/Turkey sandwich with a veggie/fruit platter, instead of serving potato chips and Doritos. Going forward we hope they would consider offering this to the guests.

Our family group of nine people took the afternoon Emerald Bay cruise and really enjoyed it. We ranged in age from the 30s to the 80s, and everyone had a good time. The narration was interesting--lots of stories. The boat was comfortable. I felt it was an expensive trip, but I guess everything in Tahoe is expensive. It was worth paying a bit more than for the MS Dixie to avoid the hassle of crowds.

A few of us families went on the Lake Tahoe Cruise to Emerald Bay on Tuesday, December 6th and had THE BEST TIME! We all said it was the highlight of our trip! The captain and first mate were so kind and knowledgeable and answered any/all the questions we had. It was a gorgeous day and such a beautiful lake to cruise around. We all said we wish it was another hour cause it was so wonderful. Highly recommend doing this tour!

Are infants allowed on this cruise?
Written June 6, 2018
I believe so but I would call them and ask...there should not be a problem and I doubt they would charge you anything for the infant...great people.

We areceived coming to Tahoe on June 1st and staying til June 6th. Do we need to make reservations for this boat tour and how much for 2 adults.
Written June 19, 2016
I just saw this question. It was posted June 22nd so I am not sure if it will matter. Yes, a reservation should be made at least one or two days ahead of time. They are a great company so they fill up fast. Have a super trip!
