Liping Scenic Spot

I have visited Li Ping in midsummer coming from Hanzhong, Shaanxi (the park introduction card says 65km although it's much more, arround 90). Be prepared for a typical chinese style tour, which includes mini bus (after ticket area) driving you close to prepared-enclosed paths where you can walk next to the river until you reach the next bus stop in order to go further. Better not to try to follow your route as there are guards not allowing that. When it comes to the scenery one can say its beautiful with nice river streams (it's not Alps or Rocky Mountains, so do not even think to drink the water there) high cliffs hanging all over your head, small waterfalls and geological remains from the Peculiar period. Locals want to believe that rocks look like dragon scales, that's why they call it "Dragon Mountain" (no connection with the YuLongXueShan in Yunnan) which is ok, although a try to "fake" some rocks shaping them, by adding smaller stones and colored cement parts, into a dragon lying on the ground, is a cute "fail". As mentioned, guards are all around and public toilets as well every 20'-30'. There is also a "Chalet" like restaurant close to the top (for those few not carrying supermarket hand bags with tons of food and water making their mountain walking enjoyable ;) ). One day is enough to visit most of the areas of the scenic spot, although if one wants, can stay there for the night and visit other neighboring spots as well.
