For the last day of Spring Break this year, we planned a trip to Lake Travis Zipline Adventures. Our children each invited a friend and the Groupon discount was definitely an added incentive. The booking option and online waiver process was a piece of cake. While living in the area for the past 7 years, this has been on my radar to check out and I'm only sorry it took me this long to book it with the family. Everyone with Lake Travis Zipline Adventures was awesome! Eric and Mike were awesome guides, very informative and entertaining and definitely added to our experience. I had read up on the website to prepare and was able to coach the family to be prepared with dress and comfort and to be prepared for a little physical activity (e.g. hiking.) The five (5) ziplines were a blast, each one getting progressively faster and longer, until the final dual-zip race over a section of the water. You take a nice little boat ride on a pontoon boat to the other side of Lake Travis, which is where the ziplines are. There's a nice briefing area where they help you get suited up and fitted for the correct size harness and they you are off to a small hike to the first zip. The first one was to get you acclimated to not grabbing the line, getting situated, and comfortable. The second was a short hike uphill to the next station with a little more speed and length to the zip. The same for the 3rd. The 4th zip was over a section of the water and was pretty fast with an amazing view! The final hike uphill was the most challenging, but there was a bench mid-way, and the guides were super great the entire day about staying hyrdrated with the water that they provide and many of the zip platforms, as well as taking your time. It was a nice overcast day and the temperature was very pleasant. We all had a total blast and enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely be back to try out the Night Zip Line experience. I don't think I'd want to do this in the Texas summer heat, though. :)

Best: Guides were informed, safe, social and helpful. There were some nervous people on our group but Jenna and Austin calming influence put them at ease.
Going on the 8:30 session was brilliant. The temps were cool, and breezy. But even when hiking, you're under the tree canopy so there's no direct sun beating down on you.
The first two zip lines are short and good to get comfortable. The last 3 are LONG. The last one is super long, over water and quite fast. Even still, no one was anxious because the guides had made them feel comfortable and confident.
Kudos to Jenna and Austin
Be sure to plan to tip the guides too.
BTW, Groupon has a deal to save $20/person if you go midweek.

This was my third time zip lining at Lake Travis Zipline Adventures and as always the experience was amazing! This time around my tour guides were Neil and Neil. Both were super friendly and made everyone feel comfortable; especially if it was your first time zipping. The views are breathtaking and there’s lots of stops along the way for photo-opts. If you’re looking for something you can do with friends and family, who don’t mind hiking some, I’d definitely recommend going to Lake Travis Zipline Adventures.

An entertaining experience which included trail hiking through the Lake Travis country side, 5 exhilarating zip line rides, and a couple of entertaining guides. My 14 year old daughter and I really enjoyed racing down across Lake Travis on the longest zip line in Texas. The team at Lake Travis Zipline Adventures made us feel safe with their COVID 19 protocol of masks and social distancing, combined with hand sanitizer at every station.

Absolutely phenomenal experience - Nathan and Pietra (our guides) were incredibly funny, knowledgeable, supportive and most of all safe, making it an enjoyable day for the entire group. It can be a little daunting to just jump off a perfectly good platform and go 50mph+ across the lake, but by the time we got to the last line (there are two "bunny" zips and then 3 different zips) we were all pretty comfortable. The views across the lake (both from the platforms and when you are on the zip lines) were beautiful and the entire experience exhilarating.
As a 50+ year old I will say that there is a fair amount of walking, all very manageable except the hike to the last zip which is pretty challenging. But again the guides let you take your time and there is free cold water at every location (much needed! in the Texas summer heat).

Excellent service. Lovely property that was well manicured. Fun staff - Madison and Caleb were amazing!!! Great views, so worth doing this trip for 5 zip line tours. We did the 5pm tour and it was great having the evening breeze and watching the sun set over Lake Travis. I would definitely do this again.

The ziplining was AWESOME! However, their website booking needs work and their management abilities. I went on a Thursday when my under 17 daughter was to get in free, but there's a catch....CALL ahead to arrange it! I've never had to CALL ahead to do this for other locations or events. So I ended up paying full adult prices for both of us, because the management refused to refund her ticket! So I'm not at all happy with them about this! But again, the ziplining was awesome! Be prepared for some exhilarating hikes between zips! Jake and Joe were awesome guides!

We came to lake Travis not knowing what to do and in our hotel we found a book showing what to do in lake Travis and we saw the zip lining advertising kids free Monday thru Thursday. We decided to go and reserve it in the morning. We met 2 amazing guides Tanya and Jake who were helpful and very nice. In terms of the zip lining, it was very thrilling. We started of on 2 easy ones to get used to zipping. Then we got onto the long and fast ones. They were way bigger and way faster than they look! The 3rd and 4th ones were AMAZING! It was impressive to see Jake and Tanya do incredible tricks on the zip line. But nothing could have prepared us for the last zip line, the longest and fastest in Texas! Although the hike was long, to the last zip line, Tanya and Jake were handing out waters after each zip line to make sure we were hydrated. When we reached the zipline, you and another person went down racing and enjoying the incredible views. I would definitely recommend this to anyone coming to Lake Travis.

I've been ziplining several times and in different parts of the country, but the zip line experience my girlfriend and I had at Lake Travis zipline was unlike any other. Ziplining in and of itself is adrenaline-pumping, but the scenic beauty of Lake Travis and the phenomenal staff/guides made our experience that much more special. Cailyn and Joseph were our guides for the adventure. Cailyn greeted us with a smile and welcomed us warmly; she was happy to answer questions, and provided efficient and thorough instructions to prepare us for the zipline. We crossed the lake and Joseph greeted us just as warmly, and asked us, as well as the other group members where we were from, and even threw out a few jokes too. They were both genuine, sincere, and excited to have us. Cailyn and Joseph asked each group member "how was it?" after each line to ensure we were enjoying every single ride, played music, and even gave us opportunities to take pictures with Joseph while he was being goofy hanging on one of the zip lines. They also took pictures of us throughout the adventure so we didn't have to worry about capturing the perfect moment. Then we were able to view the pictures and buy a package, if we wanted, once we got back to the office. All in all, a perfect experience. Also, wear shoes and stretch your legs because there will be a little hiking involved. Go see Cailyn and Joseph and the rest of the staff at Lake Travis Ziplining!!! You won't regret it!!

Our family has zip lined many times before, but this was such a beautiful and safe experience at LTZA. We booked in November, and the weather got cold and rainy. They were very accommodating and allowed us to reschedule for the next day when it was sunny. It required quite a bit of hiking, so wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to climb steps. The longest hike between zip lines was .48 mile, but there were benches along the routes. They provided plenty of bottled water for us at each stop. Our appointment was at 3:00, and the sun started setting right as we got back to the boat dock. It was a gorgeous view!

Can you take your cell phone during the zip line? To record/take pics?
Written August 22, 2019
Yes, you can take pics and your leader will take ones of you if you want.

How many lines are there to zip through?
Written July 20, 2019
Is there any transportation options to go there from the city centre of Austin as I am only visiting for a couple of days and don't have a car?
Written September 12, 2018
You definitely would not want to wear flip flops as there is a lot of hiking involved!!

I’ve never been zip lining before but my whole family has and they love it. I am scared because I hate heights and I am terrified of going fast. Does anyone know about how fast all the zip-lines travel? I just dont want to waste the $120 and chicken out once I get up there. I know it says they are the fastest in Texas. Thanks everyone!
Written July 11, 2018
The fastest one goes up to 67 miles per hour !! So thrilling !!

The actual speed varies on so many different things like weight and wind. The first two are pretty slow and lower to the ground. They are perfect for breaking you into ziplining. In my experience, they got faster with each zipline. I was nervous about it at first, but it's really not scary. The scenery when you are on the zipline is gorgeous. I found it thrilling, but not scary. And the guides help you feel comfortable too if you are nervous about it.

Hi, Pmichael. What would you like to know about this attraction?
I am 64, just under 250 pounds, and I can hike the one mile at elevation pretty easily. But, I am somewhat afraid to try ziplining at Lake Travis. Thoughts?
Written June 13, 2018
I was afraid too, I hate heights, but the lines start out short and then proceed to increase in height and length. The terrain gets rougher as you go higher (they keep the area as natural as possible), so if the weight of your gear gets to you, just ask one of the guides to carry it for you (mine volunteered, seeing me huff and puff). Beach is close to where you start out and I see that a new attraction has been added. For $50.00 you get to use their private beach area that has flotation devices on the water (trampoline, slide, obstacle course). You will need reservations. There were children on my tour, they were the most adventurous and their parents had done zip lines with them at this destination last summer. There is a restroom at the end of the lines, takes about an hour or so to complete the event, depending on how many are participating. There has been a 90 year old woman doing this, she loved it and there are pictures at the rental. You can take snacks, drinks, but it goes pretty quickly and I didn't drink, didn't want to have to "go." Early is best, it gets pretty hot. Wear closed toe shoes, shorts are ok as long as they don't ride up on you with the apparatus they put on you to secure you. There are picnic tables and a grill or two at their private beach area, as well as chairs which you can enjoy during your time there which is included. Take food and enjoy the rest of the day at this area. Few cabins available but they go quickly. Don't know of any discounts, maybe Groupon.

I see that there is a beach provided, is the beach close to where our car is parked? Want to see if I can get things from my car after the zip and enjoy the beach.
Also what is the transportation for?
Written March 16, 2018
Transportation (boat) is to take you to the zip lines and back. Yes, your car is right at the area where you start so you can unpack after the zip and enjoy the picnic area.
