About
One of the longest stretches of beach on Lefkada facing the Ionian archipelago, Kathisma Beach and its fine white sand and sparkling blue waters surrounded by tall green cliffs make this one of the island's most popular spots. There are plenty of beach bars for food and drinks, sunbeds to rent, and you can do some tandem paragliding from the hills overlooking the beach. On the north end, there is a cave that you can enter and swim in. The more secluded south end also welcomes nudists. Come early to get a good spot but stick around for gorgeous sunset views. – Tripadvisor

Was planning to go to Porto Katsiki but due to lack of transportation (car or boat) we ended up going to Kathisma beach instead. We stayed in Nidri, so to get there we took the local bus up to Lefkada town and changed bus there at the end station. Important to do it there since the other stops tend to get crowded with passengers, so if you want to sit… the journey takes about 1,5 hours from Nidri to Kathisma incl bus changes. The roads are great and with very nice views!

At the beach you have loads of sunbeds, and a nice restaurant with toilets, showers and a pool. The beach is long and being on the west side it’s quite windy. Gets deep very fast! Pebbled beach - wear swim shoes!

No supermarket, so bring what you want to eat and drink if you don’t plan to eat at the restaurant.

Make sure to check the bus time table so you don’t get stuck there!!

Note! Area NOT suitable for people with problems walking (if you don’t go by car).

Kathisma shows that nothing in Greece can be done moderately. Most beaches that are "natural" are sorely neglected, whereas this one is over the top. Thank God the access is not suicidal which is the case in most places in the Ionian Sea; however half of the area is a huge car park and the other half is interminable rows of sunbeds. The sea and the water is beautiful, and it is refreshing that there is an easy access to the sea, if you manage to get there through the crowd. It is fairly expensive - the sunbeds cost some 20EUR, but the car park is included. The restaurant provides excellent food, if the service may be a little messy.

Kathisma Beach
A really wonderful beach, if not slightly huge and daunting when you arrive down steep drive. There is free parking if you frequent some bars/beaches. We park in shade at Monato and use their beds. The most expensive beds are very good, with lock box, towel and water in ice bucket, but expensive at 30 euros for two. Waiter on beach service. There are cheaper beds. The sea is shingly, warm, clean and wonderful. Lots of eateries adorn the road behind the beach. Must visit here, and despite the size, it’s not too crowded. This is also a landing site for the parasailing

Great beach, beautiful, beautiful water.
There is free parking but we decided to pay 10 euro for covered secure parking.
Lots of different kinds of sun beds for rent at different price ranges including canopy beds. First and second row from the beach we’re 40 euro for the nicest beds. ( not canopy) . I believe the prices went down as low as 15 for the common blue pair.
Great beach bar with washrooms. Beautiful set ups.
Also beach side service we didn’t have to leave our beds if we didn’t want to. Free water with our beds
Beach is majority pebble like a lot of Lefkada beaches

I love this beach even though in the afternoon it becomes really wavy. The waves look magnificent and the water is crystal clear. If you are staying in Lefkada definitely worth a visit. Best to go there in the first part of the day if you don't like waves and also to find umbrellas at the very front. We paid 10 euros for 2 sunbed and 1 umbrella and the parking was free.

Fantastic beach. Pristine white sand/shingle which is fine to walk on bare foot, no need for sea shoes! Arrived at around 10 o’clock in morning and got a parking space and lovely spot on the beach easily so would deffo recommend getting down for mid morning. Turquoise sea with lots of little fishies so bring goggles, amazing to see. Only shame is the majority of the beach is covered by rental sun beds and umbrellas meaning those who don’t want to rent one have to squish in the few gaps in between but wasn’t that big of a problem. Quite a few locals take advantage of the very touristy beach by walking round offering you sunglasses, clothes etc but they leave you alone once you’ve declined to purchase their goods. Overall, Caribbean level beach that’s well worth the visit as it’s one of the best beaches in Lefkada, just get there early ish!

The beach is one of the best I've been in Greece.

There are many beach bars along the coast, but none of them have free seats. You have to pay both for the seats and whatever you order.

From what we saw in a little trip, the prices for the seats are around 8-10 euros a pair.

We decided to bring our own umbrella and beach towels, and stayed at one of the spaces between beach bars.

It's good both for families and couples.

The sea has rocks at the beginning, which makes it very clear, and one of the best beaches I've ever been to. The water becomes very deep very fast (about 10 meters from shore) and since most kids stay in shallow waters you can easily go a little deeper for some quite.

As you approach the beach the prevailing feature of the view are beach-bars and umbrellas. The sea is very clean and the water is wonderful. The beach is very long and is completely taken over by umbrellas and beach bars that play different music and is generally very crowded.

Amazing view, crystal water, pebbles mostly, better wear aquashoes... The parking is free, if you buy something from the restaurant...there are toilets, 2 sunbeds and 1 umbrella cost 7 euros... Easy access with car, close to the main road.
