Thanks to Instagram I found this place and it is so unique, an absolutely must visit.
Very easy to find just put Spiazza into google maps and it’s main roads all the way to the top and amazing views along the way. Plenty of parking in the town, the one we found was free but others have a small charge.
The walk down is easy, I’d recommend the path to the left instead of the steps to take in more of the view. It’s all paved and a gentle slope down or for those less able there is a small shuttle bus to take you down also. The walk took us 15-20 minutes tops.
The church is unreal, location wise has to be seen to be believed. There was a mass on while we were there which added to the atmosphere but meant we couldn’t enter the church. Only a small place but nice to walk around it all, a small bar there too for drinks and snacks but we ate at a restaurant in spiazza instead with great views.
Absolute must see and if you carry on up the road you’ll also drive through more beautiful mountains and come to the town of Ferrara di Monte Baldo which is stunning

We had gone to the Nature Park Zoo and when we left there, we drove 30 minutes and went to this Sanctuary. We parked at the hotel and walked down, at least 600 steps going down, some parts were a little steep and broken. There was the Stations of the cross along the way down, we saw only a few of them. It took a long time to get to the church, and words cannot describe where and how this church was built! The scenery was absolutely incredible. We went inside the church, but there was a Mass being said, so we didn’t stay very long. Walking down even more steps, we went to an area full of pictures, that were there for all who had received blessings for the prayers that they offered. There is a small cafe’ where you can buy cold drinks and snacks, there is a store that sells religious items. There is an elevator that will bring you back to the top without climbing the stairs, but it is offered only to the elderly or handicapped. The local bus is there as well, we didn’t take that as we wanted to walk back up the 600 or so steps. We wish the time had been more for us to explore, but we will be back, hopefully soon.

A cool and serene path leading to this beautiful church. Fantastic views amongst lush greenery and fresh air. We parked at the top. From the car park area, you can choose to walk downhill, use the short cut via stairs whenever you see stairs leading down or take the public bus from the Spiazza. The ticket costs €1.80 per way and there's a schedule like every half hour. There are cafe's and toilets near the church which is always good.

Beautiful walk from Brentino Belluno up the 1500 steps. Was there on a Wednesday morning and a ceremony was taking place so we couldn’t visit inside the Church.
If you are fit, park your car in Brentino Belluno and take the walk. Importantly, - make sure to wear proper walking shoes…and also keep in mind that you also need to find your way back to the car after visiting. If you have problems with knees and hips you might wanna think twice about taking the walk - and also if you have to stop for catching your breath after the first turn on the steps you also might want to think about taking the car instead.
The walk up was, to us, a way bigger experience than the Church. Luckily we went there in low season - wouldn’t go during summer…

This was not planned as part of our travel itinerary at Verona; we managed to free ourselves on the 3rd day and decided to visit this amazing and picturesque church.

In the morning on 23 Nov, we almost gave up our idea for a day trip out of Verona after spending 2 hours with 2 unsuccessful car rental companies. On our 3rd attempt, we managed to secure a car - thank God for making this driving trip possible.

Weather was cloudy and dark clouds were hanging on the mountains when we arrived. From our experience, we were quite certain of a heavy downpour. We prayed that God will allow us to bring our kids through this holy walk and witness God's gift and creation. We didn't explain to our 5 and 8 year olds what they'll be expecting at the end of the stations. Even my wife thought we had missed the church after the last station since there were no sights of any (church) buildings; the only living things were the 5 Alpacas we saw gazing at the green fields.

I fast forwarded and walked ahead towards the bus stop; behind me came my wife and kids who exclaimed "Wow!" What they had witnessed was a real surprise because my 5 year old excitedly said "That's a nice castle!"

The walk (from the top) is definitely one of the best path taken with my family. The kids lighted up 2 candles each, said their prayers and made their offerings as an appreciation of God's love for us. The Santuario Madonna Della Corona is a must-do and shouldn't be missed.

Santuario Basilica Madonna della Corona is an amazing place. The views are breathtaking, the basilica is built right on the rock (you can actually see the bare rock when inside). The whole structure is built on a ledge above a tall cliff, which is amazing in and of itself.

I would like to alert that driving there we followed instructions from the Waze navigation app, and that caused us and the locals serious problems and embarrassment.
The route in the app indicated to go all the way down from Spiazzi to the Santuario. This is not what you should do! Park your car in a designated lot in Spiazzi and then walk down (about 10-20 min) or take the special bus.

As you go downhill into the cliff to reach the sanctuary you are surrounded by silence but with a view on the Adige valley below.
You can walk up and down in less than 40 min. There is a bus service available also.

I walked alone from the parking and walked thru the station of the cross. There are stairs you can choose if you want a shortcut. When I arrived there , I was surprised that there were very less tourists in the area. The church is beautiful. I went inside and there were only 5 or 5 tourists including myself. Very quiet and peaceful. I love this place! The view is fantastic by the way.

There are also trails around the area so if you are interested for a nice walk, that would be a good idea.

There are signs in the parking lot (around the area) that you must wear decent clothes (something to cover your shoulders and no shorts allowed). But I saw some tourists not following the rules, which is quite disappointing.

If you are too lazy to walk down to the church, there are buses going back and forth (I do not know how much coz I walked back and forth).

We have driven the north-south highway east of Lake Garda many times. Every time we spotted the church that is built on a narrow ledge against the mountain face. This year we had a chance for a closer inspection. To get there you need to park in a little town called Spiazzi. From there you can walk down to the Basilica. Or you can take a huttle bus. The walk takes about 20 mins and is fairly steep, but well paved. If you are reasonable fit, I would recommend walking. The scenery on the way is very pretty and the walk and anticipation add to the overall experience. When you get to the Basilica you will find a pretty church which is integrated in the mountain wall. the left wall inside the church is just rock. At this site the madonna was seen centuries ago and that's why it is a sanctuary where they build the basislica. It ia also a destination for pilgrims and tourists alike. Nuns still live on site. The view into the valley is also impressive. Altogether a site that is well worth a visit.
