Poor service
Jun 2021 • Couples
Booked a table for two for 11.30 in time for breakfast. Wasn't busy just a few tables. Waited 10mins to be seated not sure why!
Got our table noone came to take our food order service was very poor and this isn't the first time.
4 members of staff standing behind us talking no acknowledgement other members of staff looking a bit lost of what to do with them self's I'm the end I had to get up and ask for somone to take our order the response was yes I will get somone.
So we ordered breakfast, the menu which states serviced til 12pm it was 12.01pm to be told we couldn't have breakfast

I said we have been waiting for somone to take our order for 15 mins, if someone had came earlier rather than chatting we would have been in time for it. she said No. so we came all this way to get refused no apology so we left won't be returning.
The service of the staff really isn't very good walking around like headless chickens acknowledgment is number one in a restaurant.

Shockingly poor service
Jun 2021 • Family
Recent experience has led me to realise that for all the wonderful attributes at greendale (animals, playpark, seating etc), the staff are sadly lacking. An evening meal marred by really slow, poor service and the burger I had was dry and tasteless. Came back for afternoon drink and had to ask for refund after looonngg wait for them to make three hot drinks. It wasn't busy. Other staff members milling around and apparently doing nothing - one person working on one coffee machine while the other machine was unused. After 15 minutes wait I gave up and asked for a refund. Guess they are used to that as I didn't get an apology just asked if no-one told me I would have to wait. Not at all impressed.

Underwhelmed
May 2021 • Couples
Went for our second vaccine at the nearby centre and was excited to be able to visit the farmshop for the first time as I’d heard it was very good. General layout confusing, untidy and messy esp the non-food section Bread counter - v poor selection and standard boring fare; traybakes looked cheap and unexciting. Butchers - friendly but nothing different on offer and it looked average. I bought a roast for dinner and it was v average. Uninspired by everything else I went to pay. Put my three items on the till only to be told it was closed. Went to the other, paid cash and he went off to get me change because “there was no cash in his till”. When he returned and opens the till, it was full of cash. Weird excuse for not knowing how to reopen your till. Both kids were v young like the majority of staff - they all seemed to be untrained and not even slightly interested in customers. I fancied a coffee - stood for a few minutes while eight, yes eight members of staff milled around the counter doing nothing. No system in place that anyone understood. A girl came over to clean the dirty countertop with a dirty cloth that is used to clean the coffee machine. No understanding of hygiene and no-one was wearing a mask. The barista finally served my coffee which was ok but she could have said thanks or smiled. All in all a typical money-grabbing experience without the customer service to make it into a delightful experience. Will never return. Don’t suppose they’re bothered.

Fish and chips
Mar 2021
Came to greendale farm shop today to have fish and chips, we were really looking forward to them as it’s been sometime since we have been able to come down. We were really disappointed with them the batter was very thick and not crispy, chips were over cooked or the oil was to hot when they went in. All I can say is the fish inside the thick batter was good. ☹️

Disappointing first order
Jan 2021
I ordered online and was really looking forward to the lobster Thermidor and the coquille st. jacques as well some fresh scallops to cook at home. However the Thermidor was bland and seemed to be missing the traditional ingredients expected and the overriding flavour in the coquille was a salty cheese which ruined the delicate flavour from the seafood. Also on closer inspection for six pounds each, there was only one scallop and the rest was prawns and sauce which is not mentioned in the ingredients . I think more attention is needed in the cooking of both dishes ,as they were both underwhelming in flavour and quality.

Great customer service
Dec 2020 • Couples
We had an issue with the three bird roast that we had from Greendale Butchers for Christmas. When we went to complain both Maggie and the Head Butcher Stuart resolved the issue very swiftly and politely and we were extremely impressed. Great to see a local business with great customer service!

Ridiculous wait for fish and chips
Dec 2020 • Couples
Fish and chips pretty good but service and wait dreadful. On line orders being rushed out of the door whilst we stood like lemons waiting 40 minutes for a take away. No communication and won't be rushing back

Wont be returning...
Dec 2020 • Couples
Just had dinner for 4 people at Greendale. Arrived and taken to our table. 35 mins later we were still waiting for our drinks. Had to ask to order them in the first place.
Food arrived - soup warm. They forgot one scotch egg starter - it came out completely different from the other one we had.
Main course was just as bad. Scampi and chips - peas were cold. My husband had scallops - tiny portion.
The service was shocking. Very slow and really not what u would expect.
Wont be returning soon I’m sorry to say.

Disgraceful Service
Dec 2020
Disgraceful service! Click & collect order incomplete with no information nor any refund! If you’ve ordered for Christmas I’d advise you check that your order can actually be fulfilled!

Avoid at all costs
Dec 2020
Following a recent visit I was appalled at the lack of hygiene shown in the butchery department. Dirty aprons and masks are being worn by staff.
