- Kellye C23 contributionsGreat food and experience, and they can accommodate gluten-free!Our Gate 1 Travel escorted tour stopped here, and it was a great experience. We were met by traditional dress and a homemade cherry liquor. The hosts were very kind with great service, and the food (prepared "peka" style) was excellent. The dining room has a rustic and cozy feel, and they offer locally made wines. I eat gluten-free, and there were no issues with accommodating me. I skipped the homemade bread, and they simply swapped out the cake dessert with a nice fruit salad (the salad, meats, vegetables and potatoes were naturally GF). Cute gift shop, too, but they can't take credit card, so bring cash.Visited March 2024Traveled with friendsWritten March 25, 2024
- Sylvia NBoise, Idaho5 contributionsQuaint, delightful and delicious! We enjoyed an outstanding lunch today-and even though it was Easter Sunday, we were welcomed like family! The village is quaint, full of history and traditions. The owners are living their culture and bringing their heritage to visitors from near and far. The food was delicious! The service was attentive but not intrusive. It was a windy day and as mentioned earlier, a holiday so we were the only guests besides some locals. I can imagine what this is like during the "busy" season! Stop here on your journey! You will love it!Visited March 2024Traveled with friendsWritten March 31, 2024
- Dinko BenčićRijeka, Croatia24 contributionsDalmatian Hinterland as it once wasWe visited Etnoland in Pakovo Selo with 8th grade school excursion in April 2024. From moment we arrived until time we left, we felt like visiting our families or close friends. Our host Mrs. Ana, dressed in traditional folk costume, toured us through reconstruction of traditional house of Dalmatian Hinterland. Her way of explaining how life was 100 or more years ago, was excellent, interesting and full of wit and jokes. After this unique experience, we had superb lunch in their restaurant ("konoba") , prepared in old fashion way, under the "bell" ("peka") . There is also a gift shop that has a lot of quality souvenirs. I would absolutely recommend visiting Ethnoland Pakovo Selo to anyone visiting Dalmatia if they want to experience Dalmatian Hinterland as it once was! Mrs. Ana & all of Etnoland friendly staff keep up the outstanding work!Visited April 2024Traveled on businessWritten April 14, 2024
- RhroncichBrookfield, Illinois579 contributionsDalmatian life as it once was! Fascinating! We went with a tour group. First of all, Anna is a treasure. Fluent in English, entertaining, and a source of so much information. Good food, excellent and delightful little place. So much to savor - visually and tasty! Make time to visit. Even the kids on our tour enjoyed this.Visited June 2024Traveled with friendsWritten July 10, 2024
- Jeanette B3 contributionsWonderful experience. On tour and we ended eating at Etnoland, from the time we arrived Anna and her husband were amazing. Pork and chicken cooked traditionally under an iron bell, delicious. Anna you’re not only a great cook and hostess but also an entertainer. Congratulations.Visited November 2024Traveled with friendsWritten November 5, 2024
- Rick HollimanDenton, Texas33 contributionsYou gotta get to EtnoWe stopped at this place for lunch with our tour company after having seen the waterfalls in Krka. We were met by our host, Maria, who spoke English amazingly well. As you would expect, Maria was dressed in traditional attire and she asked where we were all from, then she served us all a most delicious cherry liqueur. We then went to the rustic and cozy dining area where we were served a meal cooked by traditional means. The meat (chicken, pork, and lamb) is slow cooked in the ground. It was so flavorful and tender! And they just kept bringing more food. Nobody left hungry. There was a gift shop with a selection of their own products that were all very fairly priced. A great time was had by all and we all left feeling like we been brought into someone’s cozy home and treated like members of their family.Visited December 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten December 4, 2024

All just perfect- the atmosphere, food, host- everything great. We were very well greeted, entertained! The theatral part with historical taste of explaining how croatians lived before was just amazing. Joško is such a great actor! Best place I have ever visited for dinner! Food was delicious, drinks was marvellous! 10/10

A fun and interesting place showcasing traditional Croatian dress and foods. We were part of a group and greeted at the entrance by the hostess and treated to a flavored brandy. We then went inside a beautiful restaurant and treated to an excellent peka meal of chicken and pork, and given far more food than anyone could eat, and it was hard to stop eating since it was so good, Beer or wine accompanied the meal along with a nice desert and coffee.
Well worth the trip!!

We were on a recent tour with Gaye 1 and stopped here for lunch. The host was amazing, gracious and funny. He shared a bit of his story of how he and his family rebuilt Etnoland after the war and decided to be a tour destination.
We had other Croatian dinners which are more or less the same; pork, chicken, potatoes and a carrot thinly sliced for all platters. The lunch (same as dinner) was actually delicious! It was cooked in the traditional style on a fire pit (not remembering the Croatian name). You place the rondel like pot in the hot ashes, place rings on top of the pan lid, and cover with hot ashes and cook for hours till tender.
The food was tasty, well seasoned and the pork was not all gristle and fat as we had experienced elsewhere. Plenty of veg and salad too. The meal was completed with their version of Croatian apple pie. Loved it! We were very happy with our meal.
Before our luncheon, we were given an abbreviated tour of the farm (I loved seeing the prosciutto hanging in the tree air curing) and were treated to their farm made cherry liqueur. OMG! I’m not a drinker but I loved it!! It was like drinking summer ripened cherries. I had seconds and bought my own personal bottle to take home.
If you’re traveling through Drnis between Montenegro and Krka while in Croatia, stop in & enjoy. Friendly proprietor, lovely farm and hard working family. The gift shop was charming too. Cute trinkets, locally made (not in China!!) and their cherry liqueur. Yummm!!!😁🍒

After reading all the great reviews we were very excited to go to this place but even from arrival we couldn’t help but feel a very strange atmosphere.
We had booked a table for lunch before the tour. The waiter tried his best from the outset to get as much money out of us as possible and was quite pushy trying to offer us wine and even putting out bread that we specifically said we didn’t want.
The food came and it was really delicious but we couldn’t help but feel a really odd atmosphere in the place, like at any moment things could turn suddenly and we would not feel welcome anymore. As soon as we finished we left and sped away towards Sibenik choosing not to do the tour after all. Luckily the bill was correct and we were not charged for the bread.
I think because the place is so far away from the usual tourist spots they don’t know how to act around tourists maybe? We were relieved to get back to the coast and away from the place. I think maybe it is better with a big group of travellers rather than for couples

At Etnoland, we had a dinner preceded by a short ethno excursion. Food and wine were great, but even if it weren’t, it would have been a very memorable visit, thanks to the charming excursion into the olden life of Dalmatian village with the hostess Anna as a guide. Any travel agency would be at each other’s throats to get such guide: funny, artistic and still very informative. Not a single dry fact and yet we emerged with much richer knowledge about Dalmatian village, its people and customs. Keep doing great work!

Our tour group had a wonderful luncheon here. We were greeted by the owner with a complimentary glass of homemade cherry liqueur. It was delicious! The restaurant was decorated in the traditional dalmation style. We enjoyed potatoes, chicken, and pork prepared "under the bell" style. The meat was tender and flavorful -- I could cut it with a fork. The salads were fresh and perfectly dressed with oil and vinegar. There was homemade bread and one of the best fresh apple strudel I've ever tasted. The wait staff were professional and the food was served in a timely fashion. I highly recommend this gem of a restaurant when you visit this area.

Fabulous family owned farm restaurant. We visited Etnoland on a Tour of Croatia.
The staff was dressed in ethnic garb, were warm and super friendly. The food was great…roast chicken and pork, a gorgeous garden salad and vegetables baked in the gravy of the meats! The walls were decorated with chalk messages from people who had visited. Great time was had by all.

Fantastic place with gorgeous food, although it was a bit difficult to find at first. There are no road signs how to get there, but once we got there we were pleasantly surprised. We were two families with kids and we enjoyed three things the most: seeing the museum, eating home-made food and our kids used the playground so we could all enjoy our time there.

We visited yesterday and had an absolutely wonderful authentic Croatian lunch. We had chicken and veal cooked "under the bell" which was superb. Tasty and very tender. Also the decour was very interesting and filled with authentic memorabilia. Our host, Josko, was a lot of fun and really made us feel welcome. Highly recommended.
