This is a must do in Komodo National Park, although many organized trips do not include it. I organized a customize trip with Indonesian Boat Tour and made sure both Gili Lawa and Padar were included. Those are in my opinion the best places to see on Komodo. In Gili Lawa we did a short sunset trek for a marvelous view. Highly recommended!

In my opinion Komodo and Rinca islands are only for those who are keen on seeing the dragons, but nothing special in terms of landscape.

It was lovely to visit this island and it's inhabitants of wild deer. There was some rubbish on the otherwise beautiful beach, probably washed up which we picked up and disposed of properly.

in dry season, the savannah in this island is brownish. but in rainy season it's change into greenish. when it's green, it's remind me to the basic window's wallpaper (the green hill with the blue sky). the sunset from here is beautiful!

I love this place to the max. Will never forget the moment where you can watch the sunrise from the top of Gili Lawa. On the way down you will walk between what they called "teletubbies hills" - Very awesome. The hike to the top will take around 30 minutes because it's quite step.

This a place to watch sunset and sunrise in one island. You have to climb two different hill s for that purpose. The Sunset hill is lower than the sunrise hill. The sunrise hill is very steep but it worth to be climbed. The scenery are stunning from both hills. Usually the tour guide will take you there for the sunset, then spend a night there and waiting for the sunrise.

there are 2 options of when to visit this beautiful island, wet season that you will get green view of the grass, or dry season that you will get brown view of the grass just like savanna. I visited last month during dry season. just a week before some stupid visitor burnt down this whole island. yeap, you reed it right, some visitor set up the firework for photoshoot session and causes all the dry grass burnt down, including some deer and animal which living wildly in this island. after that this island is closed for public, not sure is it already re-open again. please be wise and respect the rule of the island to prevent this accident re-occur in the future.
back to review then, its definitely highlight place to visit around Labuan bajo. yea.. you need to prepare good physical condition and hiking shoes to hike and reach to the top. its equal to 88 floors (my smart watch count it). but once you reach the top, mesmerizing view worth to hike... one of the best view in your life that probably time cant erase it off.
i also doing night dive around this island. both upper and underwater is just perfect.

You should start to climd to the hill by 4 pm, and you will catch the sunrise from top of the hill. You could see the sea, the sky, the land, and the sun in the most beautiful combination

This place usually part of your island hopping in Komodo Park islands. Catch the sunset first then in the morning do one hour trekking for sunrise at the other part of the island.
The tour guide said this is one of the best place to get telecom signal in the area.
We also took picture of the milky way at night on the beach.
One of my memories : watching some Dory friends swim around near the boat !
