My wife and I did the 3 day cruise onboard Alcira. We had a great group with us and absolutely loved our time out in Komodo while onboard.

Crew onboard were phenomenal - our guide made sure we got to see all the wildlife and sights available to us at every stop. Captain tweaked the itinerary slightly to make the best of the weather we had and the chef dished out amazingly delicious meals given the space he had to work with.

Keep in mind this is no luxury cruise, but if you're up for getting a little more adventurous and having a taste of everything Komodo National Park has to offer these guys will deliver on that very very well!

I don’t have anything else to say except for: BOOK THIS TRIP!!!

We went on the 3 day trip with Jo and his crew and it was better than we ever imagined. The crew was so lovely, the food was delicious and abundant, and the views… 🤌🏼✨. Jo took us to the most beautiful spots and even when we were in the water guided us to see the best things. We were lucky to spot dolphins & komodos and swam with manta rays, turtles, and baby sharks.

The itinerary looked quite full when we first looked at it, so we were a little worried that we would be rushing everywhere, but that was not the case at all. There was plenty of time in between to chill on the boat and relax.

The toilets and showers were clean and the beds were perfectly fine to sleep on for the 2 nights. We all had a personal fan at our beds to keep us cool, but for the real adventurers, I would recommend sleeping at the top deck for a little stargazing and fresh air (if the weather + mosquitos allow for it 😉).

I would say this is one of the best trips I’ve ever been on and would recommend everyone to go as well.

Positives:

Beautiful locations, the food, the beds, the toilets and showers. Everything went to plan.

Negatives

Considering you snorkel 5 times, they should have much better equipment, most of the masks leaked, and the flippers were size 9.5 max, so being an 11 it was a very tight squeeze. They should invest in new gear because it really effected the experience and frustrated much of the group.

The crew are ok, they’re pleasant enough when you need them, but the English skills of 4/5 aren’t conversational level. The lead tour guide said the plan for the day at breakfast then we didn’t hear much from him again. One of the guests had a birthday and they presented a cake and put a happy birthday song on the speaker, which was nice though. Whenever you’re off the boat they sit together smoking and don’t tell you how long you’re on that island for unless you ask directly. The last place you visit is a small beach for 2 hours with sun beds to rent for 20k, seems like somewhere to kill time because they prefer you out the way when they prepare food.

I cannot recommend this shared boat trip enough with Captain Komodo to get the most from the stunning nature the Komodo Island National Park has to offer. The advantage of this 3D2N tour is that it will be with the same boat, the Alcira and the same team so you can have confidence in what you will get. There are many boats offering similar tours from Labuan Bajo but you cannot guarantee this level of service.

Sebastian was very communicative and prompt via WhatsApp before the tour. He is fully booked for the rest of the season which is a testament to his service.

We had a group of 12 passengers which was a perfect size to explore these areas. I wouldn’t travel on a boat any larger as this becomes too crowded and hectic. The crew of 5 were fantastic. Adi was a very accommodating, kind and enjoyable guide to spend time with. Each evening he would brief us on the itinerary so we knew exactly what the next day’s plan was. Alcira’s captain, Putra, and boatman Seean did a fine job of getting us to some stunning locations. Chefs Anang and Hunter provided excellent and varied meals all throughout the days. We were fed very well on board and our group were all in agreement of the quality of the freshly prepared food.

This is the best way to see the nature of the area at a relaxing pace. We saw so much but it was never rushed with time between snorkeling spots and hikes to lie back on the sun deck and enjoy the journey. Although never guaranteed, Adi did his best to find manta rays and we were lucky to swim with these twice having anchored at Manta Point. The snorkeling spots were great and we really enjoyed the other areas too such as Pink Beach and Padar Island.

The scenery and nature sells itself here but it is important to explore it with a competent team and a safe boat which I am pleased to say Alcira delivered. We won’t forget our days onboard, thank you so much Adi, Putra, Seean, Anang and Hunter for making this trip so special. We were sad to disembark and would do it all again in a heartbeat.

We did the 3 day trip as a family, with teenagers, a 14 year old and a 16 year old. We had a fantastic time with incredible impressions and a very friendly team, were lucky with the weather and the fellow travelers.
Ady is a great tour guide, he has a lot of experience and so we were usually one of the first boats at the hotspots and had some space for us. In the end we saw everything we and the kids dreamed of before: Manta rays, small sharks, water turtles, flying foxes, many fish and corals, Komodo dragons, sunrises and sunsets.
But the whole crew did a great job.
Everyone did their best to make us feel at home and to give us a great time.
The food was varied and very tasty, thanks again to the chef, admirable what he has cooked from the smallest kitchen.
The accommodation is basic but adequate.

Our intention was to give the kids some impressions to keep for their life. Captain Komodo made the dream come true.
The boat trip was, as hoped in advance, the highlight of our Bali trip.
We can definitely recommend this trip to others.

We are the lucky ones.

Alcira , phinisi of captain komodo. This is my first time using phinisi for sailing komodo islands. it wasn't my first time to komodo, but sailing with Alcira was a great experiences for me. all the crew so helpful, so much fun and treat us very well. The services and foods during the sailing were great, five stars class. The bedroom also very comfort. Putra, the captin of Alcira also a very informative person and really all out giving us the services. Overall, Alcira one of the best experience untuk sailing bajo.

We went on a cruise as a family. We were not on Captain's boat Komodo which was apparently full but on another boat that he offered us: the Al Madira.

The cruise activities were good and the landscapes are worth it even If all the Shared trips are from Friday to Monday with all boats following the same itinerary so there are way too many people everywhere!

Most importantly, we absolutely do not recommend this boat, which was in a terrible state: everything is rusty and broken. It's not clean, there are cockroaches, there is an awful smell of mold and petrol in the room. The electric generator is very noisy, we could barely sleep.
The food was rather basic.

The snorkeling equipment was not in sufficient number nor in good condition. The guide spoke poor English and didn’t provide any added value.

The most important thing for the next customers : check the name of the boat and do not go on the Al Madira, it’s definitely not worth the price.

So many good things about this trip!

The Captain Komodo team were very responsive and helpful through the booking process, recommended places to stay in Labuan Bajo (shout out to Harbour Hotel! Best ice cream in LB!) and were clear about what the trip was, how to prepare, when to arrive, where we would go etc.

On the trip itself the crew were wonderful; cheerful, competent and obliging. The tours were well organised and we got a briefing before each activity so we knew what to expect, what to take and make sure everyone was on time, so no waiting around. Food was great, I have no idea how the cook produced such varied and delicious food out of a small galley.

Beds were comfy and clean.

It is not a luxury boat, so it’s best suited to people ok with a bit of flexibility, not overly fussy and up for an adventure. Having said that, there were two of us on the boat that were “older people” and we had a great time

We had a fantastic 3 day 2 night boat trip with Captain Komodo last week. The boat is basic but is great for what you need and the crew were brilliant, couldn't do enough for you. The group on the boat were great, everyone really enjoyed the trip. The food was really good, credit to the cook - don't know how he kept on producing such great food with such a tiny space to work! We saw everything we hoped for and more, great wildlife, beautiful views and amazing sunrises and sunsets. On top of that we had dragons, turtles and mantas - what more could you want!

Choosing Captain Komodo was the best decision I made for my trip. The crew displayed remarkable adaptability and capability throughout the journey. The facilities on the boat were top-notch, making it stand out among the many options out at sea. We knew we were on the best vessel! As a solo traveler, I immediately felt at home among the group of fellow tourists. The itinerary was perfectly planned, and our head tour guide, Doni, demonstrated incredible wisdom in navigating the crowds and finding the ideal timings at each destination. An exceptional experience with Captain Komodo!
