We did the 4D3N trip with Wanua Adventures from Lombok to Flores, on the ship Murni Lestari.

As transport, this works well, and you get from a to b with a few nice stops on the way, and we saw the animals as expected. As long as you are expecting fairly rustic, cheap, backpacker type accommodation and food then you will find this trip ok, and ok value considering it is food, travel, activities and accommodation.

The boat is definitely not luxurious, with one very public shower, nowhere to sit (it could reallyy be improved by some cushions, beanbags, extra mattresses for outside, or wooden chairs like the other boats seem to have) and most people sleep in a crowded cabin room on thin plastic mattresses. We paid the extra for a cabin which was nice as it gave some privacy with a storage area and a more comfortable bed, but hot/loud as it is right over the engines and the boat travels for the first 2 nights. Also the food is pretty good, very veggie friendly, and you can buy cold drinks etc on the islands that you stop at, though a small bar/shop on the boat would have been a nice addition I think.

Day 1 was essentially a long and very hot bus ride across Lombok (you meet at Bangsal harbour but that’s not where the boat is..) to reach the boat. You then get on the boat and stop at an island for sunset and swimming which is much needed as everyone was very hot/sticky after the bus.

Day 2 is cool because you see whale sharks (though they are fed from a fishing boat so it’s ethically questionable and very busy with snorkelers from other boats too) and get to jump off the boat to cool off later in the day, but otherwise you basically sit on the boat all day and the waves were quite big for us so lots of people felt a bit unwell.

Day 3 is the best day as you have 3 stops and this is what probably makes it worth it as the Komodo dragons were very cool and seemed more ethical than the whale sharks, and long pink beach is genuinely stunning, as is the sunset point.

Day 4 is ok as the scenery is beautiful and we slept better as the boat didn’t travel all night, but the snorkelling and beach aren’t as good as previous ones and very busy. It was honestly quite a relief to get to Labujan Bajo to have a proper shower that isn’t overlooked by everyone and a quiet nights sleep.

Overall, this is a reasonable way to get between Lombok and Labujan Bajo while seeing some of the sights along the way, as long as you’re expecting fairly rustic living.

I enjoyed the boattrip from Lombok to Flores so much! It truly was an amazing experience with so many highlights on the way. I definitely would do it again!
It was easy to book the trip per whatsapp, they always wrote back emediately and explained everything. Also the crew was really friendly and the food was truly good! (also for vegetarians) - although there was not a very big variety (which was not a problem for me).
Don’t expect any luxury or a lot of space on board… but you don’t need it on this trip ;-)
Just enjoy the ocean, the nature, the people and maybe bring a book or some games because you will be on the boat for a long time.

One thing I would recommend to the guide is to do an official briefing every evening before dinner for the next day. So everyone is prepared and knows what do bring etc.

Thank you wanuaadventure for making this possible!

We recently did the Flores to Lombok 4 day/ 3 night trip with Wanua Adventures, after having done the Lombok to Flores route with another company. Having experienced two different companies it is clear that Wanua is a far better experience and the guides Sultan and Ojan were well organised and made sure that everyone had a good time, with safety always considered. The food on board was excellent and with only 20 guests on board, we would really recommend travelling from Flores to Lombok as it is much quieter than the other way round. This trip is excellent value for money and the stops were far better on the Flores to Lombok route and we loved the stop at Rinca village.
The only thing missing was somewhere comfortable to sit when doing the long crossings, some beanbags would have made the trip perfect.
We shall miss your singing Ojan 😅 and thank you to you and sultan for your kindness, humour and care throughout our trip. 😊

Prior to the trip the company were really good and quick replying to messages and it was easy to secure my place on the trip and pay.

Other passengers were really friendly, as were the crew.
I found sleeping on the deck fine (definitely an experience), it’s just hot which there’s not much you can do about.

I didn’t really research the trip beforehand which is my own fault, I didn’t realise that basically two full days are travelling, so definitely bring a journal, cards or a book or two. Also didn’t realise that the whale sharks are fed, which is a shame as it’s interfering with nature.

However, days 3 and 4 of the trip were really good. It was great to see Komodo dragons and I loved pink beach. The food on board was great too.

If you get really seasick, or are looking for something more jam packed I wouldn’t recommend this trip. However if you’re happy to chill on a boat with friends then you’ll probably have a nice time.

It was a nice experience. We visited fantastic places like remote Islands, Komodo National Park, Rinca village, Pink beach, Satonda Island, Pempe Island. We had a fantastic sunrise trekking in Padar Island, then we went snorkeling seeing many fishes, dolphins and the coral reef. Our crew was good, particularly Amenk and Ricky were very kind and explained us everything. We slept in a cabin and It was quite comfortable. The last night we had a bonfire on the beach and It was nice, but we had to pay (a very small amount of money) for 3 small plates of grilled fish for 30 people. Furthermore, food on the boat is not so good, it could be improved. Another negative aspect was that we spent many hours on the boat, we could visit more places or spend more time on the beaches (like Pink beach which was fantastic). Finally, I think that maybe the boat is too small for 30 people. Nevertheless, I recommend this experience if you are young and you like very much travelling by boat.

It was my first time to come to Indonesia. After doing a lot of research, I chose Wanua Adventure for a four-day and three-night liveaboard trip. From the contact to the liveaboard, I felt the friendliness of the employees of this company and they answered many of my questions.

The four-day and three-night itinerary allows you to experience life on the ship. Every island hopping trip is very interesting and fun! In addition to watching Komodo dragons, sea swimming, snorkeling, and boat diving, you can also enjoy the magical moments of sunrise and sunset on the boat, which will make you reluctant to blink!

Thank you to Momo, Akbar, the captain and all the crew members on the ship who took care of our three meals a day. They always asked me if I was okay and showed great concern for me who was here alone. During this trip, I felt the warmth of the Indonesian people. Friendly and optimistic nature makes me believe that happiness is contagious. I was really happy during this trip 🙂

Although there are not many Asians on board, everyone is very friendly. As long as you are willing to speak, you can get to know people from all over the world👍🏾

If you are still hesitating, you really don’t need to, just place an order and experience it once, it will give you endless aftertaste for life:)

Intimate reminder: bring enough sunscreen, snacks (potato chips or your favorite), alcoholic drinks (everyone has a bag of beer when boarding the boat) 😆, having these will make your journey more enjoyable✌️

Overall the experience was great but first and second days were really not worth anything. It’s more a 3 day 3 night cruise rather than 4 days.
We started the “first day of the cruise” by going back and forth in bus between the registration office and the departure port. That took us 6hours. Then we finally departed at 4pm.
When you book Wanua you should expect to navigate during at least 20hours without a stop on the second day. It is what a cruise is about but we would have prefered to be made aware before. Wanua should think about how to make this time more supportable.
Overall, I would recommend this trip because we met beautiful people on the boat and went to beautiful places. Our guide Adi was great and cheerful. The food was good and in good quantity.

We did the 4D/3N boat trip from Flores to Lombok and really liked it!

There were in total 50 people so they split us into two groups. One boat seems to be newer, with more seating options, showers and toilets. We were on that boat and the cabin we booked was alright (small, but the bed was comfy and there was a fan).
To be honest, I think if there were much more than 25 people on the boat, it would have gotten a bit cramped. We were told that they fill the boat with max. 37 people (even if technically there’s space for 42/45). Apparently, in the opposite direction (from Lombok to Flores) usually there are more people – and more “party people” —, so if you prefer a more chill and more comfortable trip, I recommend to do it the same direction as us.
That way you also do not support unethical diving with whale sharks, because that’s not in the programme.

The nature you experience on the way, especially Komodo NP, is great! We liked the majority of the stops on land, snorkeling spots and activities. Not so much the visit of Rinca village. Also, many places kind of lost a bit of their „magic“, because they were crowded (e.g. hiking up the waterfall with 50 people in a row or watching the sunrise on Padar island with hundreds (!) of people.) So, a less „standard“ itinerary would have been nice. But we still enjoyed the trip a lot.
Also, the whole trip was very well organised. So Wanua Adventure is definitely the company to choose!

Shoutout to our guide Mambo who looked after all his „sheep“ so kindly and was a great communicator. And to the whole crew, especially for the great food (also for vegetarians). And to Ricar in the Labuan Bajo office who took away all our worries.

Went with Wanua Adventure on a 4d/3n Labuan Bajo to Lombok trip. Unfortunately, our boat got turned back as Lombok harbour closed on us when we were halfway across.

The boat team, led by our captain Juma and our guide Dedy, were stellar in keeping everyone calm and positive, coming up with carious other acitivities as we turned back towards Labuan Bajo.

The cruise was the best experience we’ve had in Indonesia. The activities included diving with beautiful whale sharks and the most amazing snorkelling, we saw some of the most incredible scenery (and sunsets) in the world.

The tourists on this trip are incredible, filled with young people with the sense for adventure and appreciation for life. We have made friends to last a lifetime.

Speaking of friends, the crew at Wanua adventure cruises were amazing! They provided epic hospitality, making every moment fun and memorable. The food is amazing and you can trust their local knowledge and experience to give you the best possible voyage. Special shoutout deserves to go to Herman and Edo who are the most charismatic and brightening people we’ve met, proudly Indonesian, proudly individual, and effortlessly cool, these guys will make your trip the absolute experience of a lifetime and I can’t recommend the trip enough.
