It's a little park at the edge of Selangor. You can visit the park and it's resident silver hair monkeys, Sekinchan rice paddy fields and the fire flies in the same day. Worth a day trip to get away from hustle and bustle of KL. it's about an hour drive each way. Remnants do a Dutch fort is perched on... More

At the entrance , there is a tram station for visitors who prefer not to walk around this Kuala Selangor Nature Park. Visitors have to pay a fee of Rm4 to walk around the shady trails . Senior citizens’ entrance fee is at RM2.00 per person. The Park is situated adjacent to the Selangor River. It encompasses mudflats and a... More

The place was OK and packed. The tram ride for fun and the flora surrounding Bukit Melawati was cool and green. However, the stop at the animal area is confounding. The place looks dilapidated and the animal uncared for. The fishes were thin and the ponds were almost dry and thick with weeds and rubbish. There are turtles in there,... More

Level of difficulty: easy. Kids-friendly. RM 4 per entry. RM 2 for Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) members. Very helpful and friendly receptionists. Purchase the A4 size bird card for RM 5 for identifying common birds found. Essentials: 1L water per person, insect repellent (need frequency re-sprays), cap (the area is quite open and will get hot in the noon). Good... More

We took an uber out to this park which took about an hour. Entry was 4 ringgits (less than US$2.0 - very reasonable. On the whole, the park was average. We did really enjoy seeing the troupes of monkeys that typically number up to 30 although we saw fewer, and we also loved walking through the mangroves. Other than that... More

it's stated, tour start at 7.30pm, but I arrived at 7.35 pm, the counter wasn't open. I'm not sure how well the safety measure was taken, but it says, 4 adults per boat. It never mentioned how many child after 4 adults, I saw people with 2 Adults and 3 children. Since I went on half moon night, the fireflys... More

Ok if you have seen fire flys this won't be anything special. But then again where else can you sit on a boat while you get taken around the river to see such a great display of clinking fireflies? It's only a 20 minute ride but worth it. A good way to spend some time with family.

Directly at the bottom of Bukit Melawati is Tanam Alam. A park / jungle, you can choose between differnt routes. We opted for the shortest, to the lake and then through the mangroves, about an hour. The park is a paradise for birds and we have also seen some, even an eagle, besides monkeys we met mudfish and crabs. As most... More
