Recently visited the Yatala Drive In & watched "Sisters" in field three.
Apon arrival, there was a extremely long traffic jam to get in and appalled by the staffs ability to direct traffic to the appropriate field and communicate effectively.
Once arriving into Field 3, my fiancé and I were over come but a Gut-wrenching -
smell of something rotting, even to the point that people parked adjacent to us left due to the over powering smell !
In future it would be fantastic to have staff have the skills and knowledge of communicating with guests in order to get to the right field and less negative attitude, but all together had a enjoyable time, but please fix that Horrific Smell.

Love these drive ins - they are a bit daggy and the diner needs a makeover but overall it's good fun and good value for couples or friends alike! Bring your own food and drink to save on costs.
That said, there are some unpleasant elements - namely the uncouth people we always seem to encounter when we come here. There's always a rude person who stands away from their own vehicle & family to smoke a cigarette... so comes and stands beside yours. The people who park their cars super-close... steal both of the speakers, and then swing their doors open, bashing yours in the process. The people who bring a pack of kids... and let them go wild while the movie is on.
I don't see a lot of common courtesy when I come here .... perhaps it's the anonymity of being inside a vehicle that makes people forget their manners?

Yatala Drive In the last remaining drive-in, turn back the hands of time and the drive-in was the place everyone went to. Well go and have a nostalgic night and if it is your first time you are in for a treat. Don't forget the deck chairs if you want to sit under the gazing Moonlite with the stars twinkling above just brings a whole new feeling to watching a movie. Of course can sit in the comfort of your car, wagon, van or whatever vehicle you drive. The best thing is you don't have to put up with other people chatting behind you or that annoying person rummaging their hand through a chip packet. Talking about chips, do not forget to head into the cafe grab a choc top it is almost mandatory, a cold milkshake and heaps of food selection Dagwood Dogs, Chiko Rolls, Burgers and lots more. Go on head off to the Yatala Drive-In you will be glad you did.

Better organisation on the managements behalf.
There is absolutely no monitoring of car spaces and selfish people who either take up there neighbouring spot with camp chairs or just park so that no one can park next to them!!
Absolutely ridiculous, we waited a good 1/2 hour to get into the movies and bought 2 tickets for 2 movies and because we were unable to find a spot sat in the lane area on the corner, had some selfish person smoking next to us and my partner has asthma, and when we complained to the office we’re told there is only one person working and can only do so much.
Maybe the management should put on more staff to better manage selfish people, we did not even make it to the end of our first movie and when we asked for a refund we’re told that is not possible, sorry!
Absolutely useless and definitley will not be going back ever again and would not recommend to anyone.
Save your money or go to an actual movie cinema, the staff and set up and management of the venue at Yatala drive in is almost non exisitent and it’s honestly bull crap!

Bought a ticket online but no ticket arrived by email, so deduced I didn't hve a ticket and didn't go. Three days later my card was debited. Rang for a refund, but contact was not satisfactory . No refund even though no ticket was issued. I had the family ready to go as well. Never chance that again.

I've been a repeat customer for many years but won't be going back - the prices have climbed steadily and are now too expensive for me. $77 for two movies for two adults and one child. Sad really because I've always enjoyed going here.

Movie started 40 minutes after the advertised time - to wait for all the late comers. Chicken "breast" burger was a deep fried, crumbed, unrecognizable substance with a few bits of lettuce and drowned in mayonnaise. ATM wasn't working. Women's toilets grossly overcrowded. At $36 for 2 movies for 2 people and expensive but rubbish food, next time I'll be sticking to Nerang Cinemas and a restaurant meal for around the same overall cost!

Haven't been to the drive in in years...use to love it! Went last night with my 2 boys to see Penguins of Madagascar & Dumb and Dumber To. After waiting 20 mins in the kilometres of traffic lined up to get in, we got a decent spot. Movie was advertised to start at 7pm. Due to (I assume) the line up of traffic still trying to get in at 7pm the movie didn't start until 7:40! By this time the kids had eaten all their popcorn & lollies and were becoming very impatient! Movie finally started (with cheers from the crowd), the rest of the movie involved a constant flow of traffic still trying to find a car spot..break lights flashing, parking lights, reversing lights, car engines, a few horns beeping, persons from car nextdoor standing in front of our car having loud conversations on phone..and must not forget a neighbouring business alarm going off for what seemed like a long time! Line up for the toilet was
ridiculous! Was over it by the time the first movie finished and left! My boys were very disappointed and no idea what that movie was about! On a good note, the popcorn was good! Wouldn't waste my time or money going there to watch a movie again!

Nasty manager who uses nasty comments to customers because she had to work late. Called out to change movies even though we paid to see field 3 movie we were told to go to another field for a different movie because they are controlling and can't co-ordinate their staff. Sad to see they treated customers so badly

Drove up to Yatala, kids were excited, got there, paid for the overpriced tickets, set up the back of the ute, thinking we were giving the kids a different experience - from the cinemas. When the movie started there was no sound coming from the speakers provided. Bought this small problem to the attention of the manager - along with other unhappy parents. Manager said they would fix the problem. They didn't. How the hell can you watch a movie without sound!! Terrible service. Disappointed family. The owner himself - who showed his face - should be ashamed of himself offering such a pathetic service. The right thing to do is to give people their money back. You didn't provide the service you advertise. Its funny you know, its like going back in time at the drive-in. You pay for everything in cash and there's no handover of any receipts.

Hi. On website it says $30 per car for entrance but I see different pricing as well on reviews. Can anyone pls advise ? 1) fix pricing per vehicle? If no, what’s the price on weekdays for a movie ? 2) Any discount on special nights? Thank you in advance

$10.00 per person per film ...
What happens if it’s raining? Should I still go ??

You can still go but just remember that you will have to watch the movie with your window wipers on.
How many people this price $69- covers to view THE FAST AND FURIOUS MARATHON.
What size car is allowed at this price ??? For example - May I drive my 4WD to this event
How early can you arrive ??? AND. Is there a kids playground or,anything on site ???
Thanks from KELLIE WELLS

My understanding is that the $69 covers as many as you can fit (safely seated) in your car (Ute, van, 4WD) it would think that everyone would need to be seated with a seatbelt to make it to the Drive-in so if your car seats seven (7) then you all get in for $69. Gates open at five but turn up half and hour early and get in li e to get the best spot. Kiddo play ground is located under the screen on field one. The info for this marathon can be found on their Facebook page.

Hey Ashley, yeah my car battery lasts for two whole movies. In between them though I leave the engine running which solves that risk of it going flat.

I seem to remember a playground down the front infront of the screen is that still there? What time is a good time to get there for the first movie?

Yes the playground is still there. We got there an hour before during school holidays and that was plenty of time to eat and get sorted.
We only want to go and watch 1 movie but they are showing 3 in that field. Can we just pay for the one and then leave or do we have to pay for 3.

You pay the one price regardless of how many movies you watch but there are several fields so you can move around and watch movies on the other fields on the same night. They're all relatively similar length movies so you don't normally miss too much of the start while you're switching fields.
