Plenty of parking at this vast headland. Wonderful grassed area to walk around for coastal and rock platform views. At load tide, when safe to do so, should take path down to rocky area to extend your exploration.

We love Gerroa and often stay close to Black Head Reserve with its 180 degrees + view. There are beautiful coastal walks from the Head through to 7 Mile Beach. Great for whale watching. Yesterday a pair of whales put on quite a show, breaching and slamming their tail as they made their way south. Additionally, we bring our pet dog, as the area is unleashed which makes it enjoyable for our puppy too. If you enjoy scenic coastal areas, this is one worth visiting. Down side is that there are no public toilets.

Many years ago I helped survey and subdivide Black Head. A return visit was a joy with spectacular ocean / beach views from well maintained facilities. The walk along the grassed reserve was exceptional and the headland has great vehicular access as well

Having stayed in Berry for 3 weeks I visited the reserve most days with my camera. I have seen it in high tide, low tide, wild wind and huge waves. Wild and impressive. Took many photos that have been viewed world wide

This is a parking area at the end of the road but there is quite a bit more on offer if you get out and explore. The 180 degree views are amazing and look across to seven mile beach national park. The sunsets are stunning! There are a couple of tracks that lead down onto the rock platform where you will see lots of interesting shell fossils if you look around. The is good fishing to be had for experienced rock fishers but for those with minimal experience, definitely avoid the area right out on the point - people do get washed off the rocks from time to time. You would be better off walking around to the right and fishing inside the bay where the sea is generally a lot calmer. The best advice is don’t stand on wet rocks and never turn your back on the sea! Good snorkeling in this area too.
