About Alpaca Walking - with Spring Farm Alpacas
Come and meet us and our amazing alpacas at Spring Farm nr Uckfield, East Sussex. We offer "alpaca and wildlife safaris" across our self contained farm in the High Weald AONB. We are ideally situated close to Sheffield Park, the Bluebell Railway and the Ashdown Forest. During the gentle walk we will tell you about alpacas, their fibre, UK wildlife and how we farm. When you arrive we will give you a few details as to practicalities and then introduce you to your alpaca. We then go for the walk which is over largely even ground within the farm's boundaries and will take approx. 45/50 minutes. On your walk you may see a selection of British wildlife. The farm is managed within Higher Level Stewardship which means we don't use pesticides or fertilisers on the fields - so the walk is through wildflower meadows and strands of woodland. There is always plenty to see in each of the Seasons. After your walk, we provide you with carrots (already chopped) to reward your walking partner! We then typically go to meet the mums/babies group of alpacas and spend time with them. If you are inspired by alpacas and their fibre, we can also show you the fibre side of what we do on the farm using our own alpacas fibre. Alpaca fibre is an incredible natural fibre and lends itself to luxury products. Alpacas are herd animals so we walk a minimum of two on any given day. Please note that the minimum age for walking an alpaca is typically 12 years old. We also allow accompanying walkers on the basis of a maximum one accompanying per guest walking an alpaca. We look forward to seeing you soon.

I got this walk as a birthday present last year and it has taken 10 months to be able to go but I was not disappointed! This place is amazing! Chris and Vicki are so friendly and really informative. All the alpacas and llamas are so happy and friendly animals! Definitely will return and do this again!

Oh wow, what a memorable day we have had, on our wedding anniversary too! We won’t forget it...forever. Thank you so much, what a lovely experience walking your beautiful, “FatherTed” the llama and “Vincent” the alpaca. Each and every furry friend on Springtime farm are loved by their owners and so adored by all the visitors. Appreciation too for the instructions regarding our human interaction, they are not pets and thrive on distant admiration, then we were rewarded. Our visit was so well organised and informative and the Covid rules were firmly in place for us and the animals. Thank you so much and we will be recommending to all our friends for a very special day out in your beautiful farm.

Visited here a couple of weekends ago to do the alpaca walking. Honestly so so worth it! Vicki and Chris were super friendly and really informative. Great introduction into alpacas and then we each got to chose our alpaca (or llama) to take on the walk. Ended up being here around 2 and a half hours. Massively exceeded expectations. Would 100% recommend. Lovely day out for all.
