Worst of the worst.

If regret would help, I would say that I really have the biggest regret in spending my time in this place. The street to get there is terrible, and you have to pay for nothing, just to park your car and tried to find a place way for the sun. the best was to leave the place.
I don't recommend, wast time and money and if you like your car you will certainly agree with me.

I went to paraiso perdido trial on a wednesday week, just because I want to have the place empty, enjoyng nature and the cascade and natural pools. I paid R$40,00, like $12, with the promisse of seeing 8 cascades.
I have no guide to follow me because the responsible said i only had to follow red foot marks painted in the stones and a red flag showing the right direction
First: some red foot were erased.
Second: the red flag was roten
Third: without a guide, you only can go trough 3 cascades.

So I think thecost benefit rate was pretty unfare. Too expensive for what offers. yes, its a beautiful place, the sightseeing is wonderfull, but it really needs:
One: maintenance
Two: guide and observers to garantee tourists security.
Three: worth what you pay for.

Not for adventurers

We visited this location during carnaval and so it was extra busy. After driving 15 minutes of dirt road we waited 15 minutes in a line of cars just to pay the fee and enter to park. The park is way over priced at 40 reais per person! The park is well kept and clean. I would recommend this park to families or those who have not hiked any of the surrounding area. You can only walk and swim in designated areas. There are many free and much more expansive water walking areas with waterfalls in much more convenient locations. It was not worth paying for.

There are better places and more friendly near by!
Feb 2016 • Friends
I visited this place as it was highly recommended but after I had visited many other waterfalls in other atractios near by such as Trilha do Sol ( The Sun Trail), Paraiso Perdido (Lost Paradise) was very disappointing, unfriendly staff, and too many rules. If you haven't been to the other places near by you will like it but if you visit the others first then it's not worth visiting this place.

Great waterfalls. Wonderful camping place.

This place is wonderful. Close to the river, it is possible to reach many water falls. There are 3 water falls easily reachable on the track. The higher you get, more beautiful the landscape becomes. After these 3 waterfalls, it is possible to reach other 4 water falls, which, in my opinion, are one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. But these 4 are only reachable by climbing some rocks. You have to be very careful, because the rocks are very slippery. However, the effort is worth of doing.

The place itself, is great for a DAY USE or CAMPING.

For day use, you can enjoy concrete tables set on the green area of the terrain, use the barbecue grill, etc.

For camping, the place is amazing, clean bathrooms (compared with the average camping areas in Brazil), and very secure.

Important: pay attention to Paraíso Perdido Rules, they are important for the visitors comfort and security.

Definitely I am going to return there! It is really a Lost Paradise!
