The land of the giraffe women as polish explorer Vitold De Golish called it. Lies in eastern Burma plateau Dimpled by terraced, paddy-filled valley. Here lives Padang , atribe of about 7000 membes. Legend claims that the brass rings protect the women from tiger bites. But actually the practice of waring them helps maintain individual and tribal indentity.

Went there in 2015. This was the last part of out day trip to White temple and going back to Chiang Mai went to the Karon Long neck village. The necks of women here were really long and they were wearing metallic neck covers to...More

It was part of touring Chiang Rai away from the main drag. It was well worth the visit. Got the opportunity to take pictures. Quite remarkable for older women to wear them as they are very heavy. The women were very friendly and obliging. There...More

I've given this 'attraction' a three star rating as I'm torn two ways about it. One part of me says it's quite interesting to see these proud people clinging to their long traditions and being able to make things to sell to tourists and thereby...More

We went here at the suggestion of our taxi driver. I was surprised that you had to pay to even enter the village. It is really just a series of stalls selling touristy gifts...all pretty much the same. Whilst the people clearly live there, you...More

Its a 1.5 hours drive from white temple to the long neck karen village. Here you see all the ladies wearing rings made from bronze around their neck as early as the age of 4. The tribe now has barely more than 150 people left....More

The people were bored silly. I am not sure this place was real. A reasonable photo opportunity - that is about it.

Unfortunately its not worth to go to the place. its close tp chiang rai, but its just a tourist rip-off. we had to pay 300 thb per person entrance fee for a market where we could see the long neck ladies.

This tour is a half day tour with lunch included. The visit was very interesting as you can see how the ladies get to wear the Multiple rings around their necks. The more rings they wear the most beautiful they are considered within their tribe....More
