My second time here with friends and each time the park and activities get better. From Elephant rides and Ox cart rides to floating down the river on a Bamboo raft. From the Elephants playing sports to painting pictures which you can buy to many other tricks they have learned. You can feed them, You can hug them and you can give them money which they take in thier trunks and give to thier trainer. Great for the entire family. A must do.

What I saw was very caring and humane
Dec 2019
I have to admit that I was shocked reading some reviews. Perhaps it is because of the activities we chose but what we saw was caring Mahouds with their wonderful animals. We did not watch any show or ride any animal, we just fed them, wash them and had some photos with them.

It was basically the top moment of our trip to Thailand and I highly recommend learning more and interacting with these wonderful animals.

THEY HIT AND ABUSE ELEPHATNS
Jul 2019
Guys, please, don't go to this camp, a friend of my who lives in this region of Thai knows well how they horribly treat animals. Please, don't believe that elephants used in shows/ rides feel themselves good in this camp. Thank you.

I would recommend going to a SANCTUARY instead...
Jul 2019
I went with my family and i took no part in reserving tours in thailand but I had been warned about this kind of parks, they supposedy take car of elephants but actually they just benefit from them. My sister told me about the difference between a sanctuary were they protect them and you can't ride them and these tourist centers where they learn to do tricks since they are kids using something like an harpoon and I even saw a middle size elephant chained for all the time I was there.

I decided not to ride the elephant but my family did and they told me what I could see, when they do not obey they hit them with this pointy stick behind the ears or in the neck,

Wie kann man so einen Ort nur unterstützen?? Shame on everyone. Sad to see that so many people still want to ride on elephants. 😞

Abused, neglected, horrifying treatment of elephants and other innocent animals
Jun 2019 • Solo
Read June, 2019 National Geographic and SEE the photos of how the elephants are chained, abused, neglected!! Educate yourself on the hidden appalling conditions in SOME of these so-called sanctuaries. Horrifying, appalling, heartbreaking!

Unethical...if you go here you are a disgrace

unethical treatment of animals. They are chained to concrete floors, beat and abused, and medicated to delusion.

Feb 2019 • Friends
You can see a Karen village, you can ride elephant along the river, you can make bamboo rafting, in my opinion Maetaman in a nice place to visit. Is the truth, they still ride elephant but sorry, we also still ride horse right ?

meet elephants at eye level

we learned so much about (the differences between the Asian and African) elephants this day - very interesting (museum, too)! Then we learned about their poo paper making and bathed the elephants.

One can ride them (or do ox cartridge rides) there as well, which we didn't find too appealing.

Poor elephants!!!
Dec 2018 • Friends
I went there and all I saw that the elephants were chained up so that they wouldn’t move. Others were caged and event little babies were caged with their mothers. The “person who controls the elephant” uses the a stick with a sharp blade at the end. The elephants are worked from 8-4pm everyday non stop carrying humans on their backs. Don’t go if you care for elephants.
