A very beautiful beach clean with toilets and showers, various food trucks parked on the road side also surfing lessons for the adventurous, totally worth the visit view of Mt Maunganui to ships on the ocean.

Fantastic beaches for swimming & surfing &" Bird Watching". Great scenery all around, fantastic weather, great shopping within walking distance. The most walked walk in NZ is 5 minutes away. Walk Around The Mount Base Walk. Always some thing going on. Salt water hot pools also 5 minute walk, & many side walk cafes. Great place for a leisurely strole,... More

A beautiful beach with great waves. A little dangerous with rips so don't leave kids unattended in the water and don't go deep unless you really know what you are doing. A must visit for the swimming in the summer and the beautiful emptiness in the winter.

A nice area with a bustling downtown during the summer. I was their during the winter and it wasn't busy but you can see just by the patios and bars that this is a beach town for as much locals as it would be for tourists. It was quiet there are a few small islands close to Mount Maunganui and... More

Beautiful beach, soft white sand, safe swimming, peaceful and relaxing. Then add a walk around or up The Mount. Finish with a little something at the cafes under The Mount. All within walking distance, just park and enjoy the day.

I often wander on the beach, there is nowhere more peaceful on a sunny day, I must admit I only go on the beach these days when the sky is blue

Enjoyed a fabulous day out at the picturesque Mount Maunganui Beach with the majestic Mount in the background. This beach has it all. Has two sides, the quiet and charming Tauranga harbor side called Pilot's Bay and the East surfing side with pretty little islands around. Long stretches of sand - both sides - and of course the walk up... More
