I did the walk from the ferry via the suburbs to the start of the coastal walk and down to Wedding Cake Rock.
Once I got to the park the walk was lovely. Getting to the start though was up hill along streets which didn’t have a footpath so walking along roads and peoples front lawns.
Walk is so beautiful going right along the cliff edge but not too close, always felt safe.
Wedding cake Rock itself is fenced off, you have to hold your camera over the fence to get a picture.
Walked back via Shelley beach which was a lot longer then I expected and path not as clear however I had the time so was not an issue.

We covered this place after coming back from Figure 8 pool on the same day. Will have to walk for almost 1 hour to reach. Not hard as reaching Figure 8 pool. Set up to walk is really good with the pathways. There are many places where one can take rest and enjoy the beauty of mother earth. Wedding Cake rock is how it is described. However, the fence has been out around for a safety purpose. But I saw people climbing over and taking pictures sitting on the rock.

Set out on a perfect weather day Easter Saturday morning. Got the ferry to Bundeena, then walked the 2km up to the sign post 3.4km to Wedding Cake Rock. Made use of toilet stop after getting off the ferry and at the facility before starting the walk onto the track. Almost immediately you are hit with stunning views, through the Balconies, down through the water-run and back up to the top to wind your way through some of the most stunning rock formations before you even get to the goal. Wedding Cake rock is fenced, for good reason, it has huge fissures running through it and it will collapse eventually, whether it be when a forbidden sitter is sitting on it remains to be seen.I watched them for a while disappointed that I could not get a clear shot from outside the fence, because they were constantly parading onto the rock for selfish selfies. I had read that there was a small track off to the side on the left at the far end of the fence line, so I carried up the main walk until I found a galvanised pool and walk a very short distance and then there it was a clear shot of the rock without breaking any rules. I informed everyone I could where to go, but to go no further than the first bush line. I then went back to the main viewing area to try and get a shot panning over the flat top surface. It took a while and I finally had to yell at people and tell them to get out of my shot, I didn't want them in it, I had come a long way to play by the rules and get my photos. They got the message and I got my shot. The walk on the way is pretty smooth going and the steepest being down into the water-run and back up the other side. Gorgeous flora around, unfortunately heard the Lyrebird but could not see it. Most of the track is board walked except for small pockets. The vistas across the coastal areas was breathtaking.

This is an easy bush track, with proper path ways . The track provides amazing views on the way. It a day activity if you are planning till Wedding Cake rock. The place is easily accessible by public transports. Take a train till Cronulla from Redfern or Central, then take a ferry from Cronulla Warf till bundeena Wharf. You can find public toilets around the beach area and this is the starting point for 30 -40 mins walk till wedding cake rock. On the way you can find a diversion to explore the indigenous beauty. The walk is beautiful with spectacular views of the area. On the way back we enjoyed in the Bundeena Beach.

This is a beautiful coastal walk on it's own. Stunning seascapes and good views along the way even at the 'Balconies'. The destination of our hike though, the Wedding cake rock was underwhelming. It's just one piece of rock jutting out. While it makes for a good picture, the entire area is fenced off (with quite a high fence which makes it possible to get only one perspective of the photo. (I'm aware it's closed for good reason because of a few people who've ruined it for everyone).
We parked in Bundeena at the end of Beachcomber avenue. From here it's a 1.5 - 2 hour return walk to the Wedding cake rock. Would still recommend the walk to the Balconies (15-20 min from the parking) and even to the Water-run (30-40 min from the parking). Both these are along the way to the Wedding cake rock.

The trail to the rock is wonderful. You can enjoy gorgeous ocean views with steep cliffs.
The rock itself, however, was really disappointing. I have known that it has been fenced because it it so frail that it could fall down at any time, but thought there was a lookout to see it clearly. The truth is, however, that the fence around the rock prevents me from viewing it. I could see it with my photos taken above the fence.

Not a long walk but might be a little challenging if you're like me, haven't been exercising regularly. Great view. Parking is terrible on the weekends and public holiday so try to come during the week. View was spectacular and we stopped several time on the way to take photos. All in all a great day. Bring water and make sure you go to the toilet before the walk. There are no facilities along the way

The coastal walk is nice, but the “wedding cake” is no longer safe to step on.
The “wedding cake” is a whitish piece of rock cliff that was naturally bleached due to loss of certain minerals.
Because of the natural erosion, the rock cliff is now brittle and may tumble down into the ocean below at anytime.
It is now fenced off with signs warning people to keep out.
But some people still take chances by scaling the tall fences and standing/sitting near the cliff edge for photos!
Don’t risk your life for a photo!
HOW TO GET THERE
1. Start the walk from the end of Beachcomber Avenue at Bundeena.
2. The walk is straight forward. You can’t get lost.
3. It will take 30-40 minutes one way.

Wedding cake rock is covered with a fence and hard to get a good view of it. You'll be disappointed if the main purpose of your visit is to see the wedding cake rock.

I was so excited to visit the famous wedding cake rock!
The trail is long but on a nice day, it is a beautiful walk. It is recommended only for fit people or who can walk as it is about 4 hours going and coming so. if you are with a group of friends it is so worth it. Scenic view of the blue ocean. DO CARRY WATER AND FOOD.
Must go if you love walking,

There are no polices right? And is it really dangerous?
Many thanks

Yes it is dangerous. Extremely. There's a very, very high chance you'll die if you stand on it. That's why the fence is there.
