You can't drive to Capital Reef and not notice Factory Butte. Stunning views - wish we had a 4WD to explore a little more closely. There are obvious ATV tracks in the area, but if you can look beyond, it's a magnificent structure.

Not really that awe-inspiring compared to what can be found inside Capitol Reef. Perhaps there's a reason this isn't in the park. While driving the full 4WD loop can be an adventure in itself, especially the back side, I did not really find the butte...More

I saw pictures of this butte and wanted to see/photograph it myself and to see it up close was amazing. Almost like it was waiting for me and watching every move I made. The surrounding area is also amazing.

Spectacular landscape, damaged by ORVs. A warning of what can happen to remaining Utah wilderness. RV area is limited somewhat, but not a pleasant venue.

One highlight of the drive from Caineville to Torrey, Utah (Capitol Reef National Park) on Highway 24 is the view of Factory Butte from the highway. Definitely worth a stop to take in this otherworldly landscape.

We did this road in a very capable Jeep. Recommend a high clearance vehicle, not a Subaru. This is a very interesting road. Stop and see the cabin. We got to see a family of owls. Changing scenery.
