We had a fantastic day today at Taquenda Farm. Marcello's passionate explanations and his wife’s hospitality took us all the way back in time. Definitely recommended for a day trip. 👍👍👍

Very nice location with a lot of potential if some more renovations can take place. Also very good coffee and Marcello and his wife are very passionate about the farm. I wish more people can visit so they can have the income to pay for the renovations.

I would like to say this is once of the most beautiful coffee farm in Brazil! King of coffee showed us the farm, brewed us delicious coffee and gave us an excellent coffee cake. Lovely people, amazing place! We recommend everyone to go there and discover the history of coffee. Greetings, Justyna

The visit was very informative, and we especially liked that this was an active coffee plantation, which allowed us to understand Brazilian history a bit. The hosts were extremely kind and helpful, especially when we arrived later in the day than planned. They even took us to the pousada where we were staying the night.

Highly recommended.

The place is historic, founded in 1830, the couple that welcomed us is super communicative, good at chatting, has a lot of stories to tell, we were supposed to stay for a maximum of 2 hours, we stayed for 3 hours and were entitled to a snack with coffee (from the farm itself), cake and watermelon juice! I highly recommend it!

The visit to Fazenda da Taquara was a big surprise in Barra do Piraí. A find... Cleidi and Marcelo welcomed us very well. We received an incredible history lesson about Brazil, the region and the mansion. Everything is very well preserved, the rooms, the clothes from the time. We can still see the coffee plantation they have on the farm. We were delighted! At the end, we were treated to a coffee, a cupcake and a coffee cookie that Cleidi makes which is DELICIOUS! It was very worth it.

The Hacienda itself was built in 1830 by the Portuguese Joaro Pereira da Silva.
It got its name Takuara from the abundance of bamboo growing here.
The beautiful house with blue trim has been well preserved to this day.
The tour is conducted by a 6th generation direct descendant of the founder of the hacienda. He and his wife maintain a home and grow coffee for tourism.
Marcelo told us about his plantation in Portuguese, the translator translated as best he could, but he couldn’t more often, due to the unstable Internet, but we were able to understand most.
Then we were fed fresh biscuits with guava jam and of course we drank local coffee!
Ooooh! For me, this is one of the most delicious drinks. Not bitter, not sour, but with a pleasant velvety taste.
I drank three cups 🙃.
We had a snack in the room under the house, which was previously used as a warehouse and a place of work for slaves.
Yes, they were welcomed too, but I hope now they still get paid for their work 😉.
We brought a pack of elite coffee and coffee cookies with us!

Farm in the sixth generation of the same family. Original furniture from the period. There are even old clothes. One of the few in this situation. I really liked. It is worth it.
