About
Delightful café area with outside terrace seating for when the sun shins and indoor options for those chillier days. Dogs are welcome within the upstairs seating area. We can cater for groups of walkers, cyclists and coach parties, serving breakfasts lunches and afternoon teas. An ideal place to meet your friends and colleagues. Watch the world go by through the magnificent gothic windows and enjoy the wonderful ambience of this fabulous building or enjoy the lovely view of the Hosemarket from outside on the terrace when the sun shines. Offering weekly specials as well as an appetising menu, the café offers local Lincolnshire produce within its tasty homemade dishes. We will cater for special requirements and always try to have gluten free cake available. Heritage Caistor's heritage was undiscovered for many years but the Centre has provided the opportunity to tell the story. In the Centre you will see interpretive panels about Caistor's past including a massive print of the 1907 Ordnance Survey Map and a 6 metre long time line describing Caistor's history from 8000 BC to the present day. I visited twice while in the area. Upstairs there's a small library and exhibitions plus w.c but down stairs there is a pleasant cafe serving simple meals and refreshments. The staff and volunteers were very friendly.

We walked from Fonaby with the kids to go here. It had a nice buzzy but not loud atmosphere. The choice of food was varied, well priced with very large portions. Service was slow but I believe a lot of new staff. They were friendly and resolved any issues quickly. Would definitely come here again. Popular with local road bikers. I had no idea this was here!!

Called in to view art exhibition and we were really surprised by the buildings interior.
We stayed for coffee at the very well managed cafe, which also served delicious looking snacks and cakes. Excellent coffee too. Outside seating on terrace for sunny days. On street parking outside. Lots of lovely gift ideas and greetings cards on display and for sale. Upstairs is community based, with a library, IT suite, gallery rooms, ect. Small but perfect. Well worth popping in for a look at the sympathetically restored building, and a coffee. Will certainly go again, wish our town had such a lovely facility.

The food we ordered was cold sandwiches. 2 ham and 2 cheese. The quality of the food was excellent, but the service was very poor. The order was incomplete - 1 sandwich was missing. It took 15 minutes to deliver. There were few customers, but the staff seem more interested in chatting to each other. The salad with the sandwiches suffered by being put on hot plates. The coffee ordered was served immediately and had to be drunk well before the food arrived to avoid it being cold. Won't be going back.

If you are from outside of Caistor and worry about parking there is a solution - leave your car at home. I do - it's about 30 miles away.

Not only will you be helping with Caistor's parking problems you will find that the coffee tastes even better. It's the best coffee within cycling distance of Hull. Oh, kindly try to avoid on a Sunday because we would quite like a rest when we get there... and a large cappuccino each.

CB.

PS - that display behind the counter: there shouldn't be an apostrophe in the word 'houses'. I would have taken half a star off for that if I was allowed.

Not really. (I was being entirely serious about the Sunday thing either.)

Oh, if you must drive there make sure your handbrake works...

I made an impromptu visit whilst walking around Caistor, and discovered a wonderful place to eat, drink, to learn and to watch the world go by. The cafe served fabulous food at very reasonable prices; the soup was tasty and hot, the serving of strawberries and cream was huge, and the lemon drizzle cake was moist and tangy. Service was friendly, swift and efficient. It's a gem of a place serving superb food and drinks in a great location. I will definitely be calling in again.

Very nice cafe for a snack, light lunch or just a coffee. The old chapel is now a library and coffee shop having been converted a few years ago. Service is friendly, pricing realistic, Well worth a visit perhaps for a bacon sandwich after walking the dog. There a a few tables outside which are lovely to sit at in the sunshine when it appears.

We went here to visit the Stewart Wall Exhibition, and were delighted to find the cafe open on a Sunday. We had the 'soup of the day' which was cauliflower & cheese. with 'Starbuck's' bread, which intrigued us. Turns out that 'Starbuck's' is a local baker. We chose the Granary. The soup was very nice, but the bread was even better. Next time we will have a sandwich!!
