We did the tour with a Chinese guide that spoke English. We were able to take our time with the tour, not feeling rushed at all. It's a lot of climbing, but well worth the work. Scenery absolutely breathtaking.

When you see the name of this park, you know what you will see there; rocks, rocks, and rocks. All kinds of interesting rock formations can let your imagination run wide. The park is so big; one day isn’t enough to see it all. Our tour guide only took us to a few popular spots at the grand stone forest... More

You can't miss this place, you have to go there. The stone forest formed naturally and originally was in sea. So you can see not only the beautiful stone forest but also some old history. Besides of that , there is also some free performance by Local Yi Ethnic Minorities.

A view that is very "Grand". The name of the "Stone Forest" is the description of the place. Should go once in the life time.

We were surprised at the main attraction in Kunming being an almost 2 hour drive (one-way), but were very glad we saw it - well worth the time. The limestone rock formations are impressive by their size, shape and numbers. The guide was able to tell us what many of the rocks are known as or thought to look like.... More

Went to Stone forest from Kunming by taking a public bus which took around 1.5 hours to reach there. The road access was very smooth and no significant traffic jam. Paid rmb 27 for the one-way bus fee. Have been checking around to rent a driver+car to bring me to Stone forest (plus wait for me and bring me back... More

This part of the Park covered a large area between Jiupan Mountain and Dafo Mountain. The Grand Stone rocks were wonderful in all aspects

In photos, the rock formations seem very tall but in reality much less. Neverthless it would be unwise not to go there if you are in Kunming. We suggest you go there in the afternoon after having visited the Jiuxiang caves in the morning as they are only 30 min far from each other. The caves are not impressive for... More

We went here early in the morning. It was a 1.5 drive from Kunming. When we got there, the crowds were oppressive and spoiled what could have been a great day. The park itself is beautiful and the rock formations stunning. If you like photography get there very early or go later in the PM. **Ask your guide to avoid... More
