I only saw the beauty of this places when I climbed up the stairs to the viewing pavilion at the very top. A very touristy place. Stairways were narrow. Requires some fitness to go up and down the stairs. A nature formations place worth to...More

The rocks are pretty incredible, however it has unfortunately become completely overrun with tourists waving selfie sticks and tour groups. The main collection of rocks (the one in all the photos) is literally surrounded by people in the summer, you can't get anywhere close... Further...More

Went in march. It's Super crowded. The pushing and shouting is extremely frustrating. So much so u just want to snap the iconic 'shilin' wording/section and leave.

We did the tour with a Chinese guide that spoke English. We were able to take our time with the tour, not feeling rushed at all. It's a lot of climbing, but well worth the work. Scenery absolutely breathtaking.
