Why it looks like abandoned?
Feb 2021
I remember this place to be very attractive with water running through trees and meadows. It was transformed to a camping area. Today only small portion is open to the public. (Why?). Looks like the place was not maintain throughout the last year. The only positive side was that many anemones were decorating the place.

Ice Cold natural spring
Jun 2020 • Couples
Basically a camping ground, with streams fed by the Dan river flowing through. The streams feed a huge natural pool (about 50-200cm deep) with ice cold water. Very refreshing on a hot day. Pool and grounds are reasonably clean, there are picnic benches in the streams and under the ancient oaks (300+ years old, says the sign). The view is gorgeous. BBQ ing is permitted.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions you need to book in advance. Well worth the nis 39 admission.

The Water is freezing cold, even in Summer.
Jan 2020
Besides it might be difficult to find a good spot to sleep during the weekends and feasts as it is most of the time overcrowded.
Still it is one of the better place to spend some time and some nights in the North (which is why it is ...overcrowded).
I was there in the early sixties (of the previous century) and Global Warming or not, the water is still as freezing as it was then.
Bottom line, a really enjoyable place to be.
And if you want to get in for free or with a significant discount, make sure to buy The Matmon Card at the entrance, which will give you unlimited free entry (or with a serious discount) at all (or 99%) of the National Parks and Natural Reserves in Israel.

This beautiful reserve is covered with flowers, anemones of all colors in February, and makes a wonderful visiting experience. Enjoy.

Good place
Jul 2019 • Family
Very wide place with green grass and a lot of 🌳 🌳 🌳 witch gives a very good shade to set at. There are a lot of spaces for the children's and the young's to play football or any kind of ⛹. A lot of counters to sit at and a lot of water flowing all over the place. The problem is that there are no showers, only toilets and they can be far away for some. The water is very cold witch make it not suitable for some people with certain illness and for children to swim

Clear, cold water from the mountain tops fill the streams and pools

We spent two nights at the campgrounds, in a bungalo. the bungalos are very rustic. They are small structures, made of bamboo, with one light that can only be turned on in the evening, when they run the generator. You can bring your own electricity, and plug into the one socket available in the hut. It runs on 24V. We were in a relatively secluded area, and a brook ran right behind our hut. Listening to the rushing water was very soothing. Also, we were in a shady area which makes a tremendoous difference in the very hot Israeli summer. No A/C but there is one hut available with A/C - you have to ask and hope it is not taken. We planned on going to other places in the area (there is lots to do around here) but the kids were so happy in the big man-made lake with on duty lifeguards, large shady areas to sit, and channels of water running through the pasrk, that we just stayed put. Not recommended during peak season (Jewish / Muslim holidays, summer vacation) as it tends to get VERY crowded, loud and dirty.
