Lovely place

Lovely place to spend a day in nature, for walks, family outing, barbeques and swimming in the natural waters. Recommended.

An amazing time!

The Sachne is an amazing place!!! Suited for all ages (there are great spots with very shallow waters for the little ones), you can spend a great day under waterfalls enjoying the clear and clean water. Even though there were quite a few people there we didn't feel cramped at any point. There is plenty of room for everyone. You can have a wonderful picnic near the water or a barbecue. Can't wait to visit again!

Very good place for relax
Jul 2020 • Friends
This is man-made park based on natural spring. There is pool with blue adorable water, waterfall and spring which comes into one more pond. Around swimming zone there is nice area with tables and recreational zones for children. You can do barbecue (so bring food, grill, beer, everything you need), and also you can buy some snacks in small shop inside the park (there is regular burger for ~30 Nis)
Good to come for a whole day not to hurry, minimum for 3 hours

Not what I would have expected
Oct 2019
We stopped here on a Saturday for a picnic lunch as part of a 3 bus tour group from the U.S. I’m not a ‘picnic in the park’ type of guy but this wasn’t bad. None of the irritants I would expect to encounter at home were really here. No loud, vulgar music. No substance abuse. No obnoxious kids & their clueless parents. The parking lot was crowded but the park’s size allowed us to spread out & enjoy it.

Heavenly oasis - a special secret place
Sep 2019
This is one of those places not on the tourist map, it's a well known place for locals though and if you're lucky enough to share in the experience, it will stay in your heart forever.

I first came here as a child - jumping in the natural spring pools, sitting under the waterfall and picnicing under the trees. It was a secret oasis. More than 30 years later I returned with newer family members and shared the secret - now they also feel it's a special place.

The pools are gorgeous (see pics), the water lovely and warm, with clear vision straight to the bottom. There are fish in the pools and they are curious, they'll swim with you, maybe brush up against you and the smaller ones will nibble at the dry skin on your feet but it just tickles. There is a kiosk on the premises that you can buy various picnic foods or other more substantial foods. There are trees to lay your towels under and some table and chair benches for larger groups.

The only downside is the closing time - 5pm, even in the summer when sun goes down several hours later than this and it's still really hot. The kibbutz has taken over ownership and care, therefore they employ life guards and those guys finish at 5pm, so they use army precision to get everyone out in an orderly fashion. It used to be a proper natural park with closing being at sunset, free entry and watermelon vendors selling to families - now there are none. Sad that the kibbutz's agenda has taken priority over the public, when they have the audacity to charge an entry fee but kick you out at 5pm!

Warning to people with sensitive skin.
Sep 2019
I loved my time swimming at Sachne but must warn people. We spent some time letting the fish nibble at our feet and legs. Later that day I noticed flies were congregating on my legs.
The next day I had angry rashes on both my calves. These got worse over the next couple of days. I had to seek medical advice. I had to buy hydrocortisone cream and keep my legs covered. The rashes continued for a week before clearing up.

A pearl in the gates of hell
Apr 2019
Gan Hashlosha (a.k.a the Sakhne) is a piece of heaven: spring(s) of cool water, a stream, waterfalls, shading trees, antiques - it's an all in one adventure. It is located in out of the hottest spots of Israel - Beit Shean valley is sometimes referred to as "hell's maw" - but the place is worth your visit.
Also, located adjacent to the national park is the Gan-Guru - a wonderful zoo dedicated to Australian animals: Kangoroos, Koalas Emo bird and much more
The one negative thing is that it can be very crowded on weekends, especially in the summer and in Muslims holidays.
There is also an entrance fee

Beautiful place to relax, make BBQ, swim, read, for children to play (supervised)
Sep 2019
We came here after having endured a hike through the Bet She'an National Park - on a very HOT day (35 celsius / 95 fahrenheit) so we were not interested in hiking through the park to see all of it. We arrived at the first pools and there we stayed. We sat in the shade at a picnic table, relaxed, ate a little and went into the water. The water was delightful, cool, refreshing. There are fish in the water and it was fun to see them. DH was not so happy with the fish as he said they were "sucking on him". But if one swims away from the shore to the center and keeps moving around, the fish do not come near. I took three separate dips into the pool during our stay and it was just absobloominlutely lovely!!! I only wish I could go there on a daily basis!

Beautiful and Relaxing
Sep 2019
Sachne is beautiful. Some reviewers mentioned trash but when we were there it was clean. I don't know if they've gotten better at keeping it clean or it was because we were there early in the day before there was a chance for people to mess it up. I would urge people to bring chairs if possible. It is necessary to find shade (as other reviewers have mentioned) and sitting on the hard ground, even on a towel or blanket, is not comfortable. I saw one couple on chairs and they seemed much more comfortable than those of us on the ground. Swimming is nice, but the fish will nibble at your toes as soon as you stop moving. We stayed at Kibbutz Nir David so our entrance fee was included in the hotel fee.
