We really fell in love with this magnificent park which brings together nature and culture with big names in Brazilian and foreign contemporary art (Claudia Andujar, Doris Salcedo, Giuseppe Penone, Olafur Eliasson, William Kentridge, etc.) and galleries that exhibit photos, sculptures or paintings.
Many sculptures also outside.
New galleries open regularly (recent opening of the Yayoi Kusama gallery, lots of people).
Plan the day because the park is huge, you can also take carts to get around (price to be added to the entrance ticket).
Free on Wednesday.
There are restaurants inside the park but you can also bring something to eat.
A bus leaves from Belo Horizonte bus station for Inhotim, arriving for the opening of the park and leaving when it closes.
Very convenient.
I highly recommend !

Inhotim is still beautiful. I visited 10 years ago and now I brought my wife to see it. It has more new works and galleries and continues with its impeccable landscaping. The signage of the attractions could only be improved. And the transport cart (paid separately) could be more efficient and punctual.

We loved the variety of artworks distributed amongst the natural environment, from multi coloured cars, sculptures, beautiful wall tiles, surrounded by bamboo and various types of palm trees. There are lakes and even restaurants dotted around the enormous park. Inhotim is quiet even with many visitors. Some cleverly carved seats are an innovative feature, because the designs are nothing like a normal park bench! You can even hear the earth, via a deep hole in one of the many indoor spaces giving you a feast for the ear and the eye.

Breathtaking landscapes hide many unique art exhibitions in this Brazilian gem. Easily reachable through Belo Horizonte, this open air museum and botanical garden is one of the largest of the world.
It offers electrical cars transport between the exhibitions and all essentials you could need. Two days are enough to see everything without rushing.

One of the most beautiful open air art spaces I have ever seen. You can walk for hours and discover new galleries and art pieces which are spread across a huge park. Some art pieces are of excellent quality.
Please be aware that English is not spoken so you better learn some basic words in Portuguese.
For my one of the highlights, definitely worth the detour. Yes it is a bit far and not so easy to reach, it if you are an art lover you will be happy to take this burden as the site is stunning.

We went with great expectation to visit Inhotim Park, because they had commented that it would be the largest open-air Museum of contemporary art in the world.
Indeed, the park is huge, it is located within the Atlantic forest, located more than 700 meters above sea level and with a total area of 786 hectares.
As you have the option, we rented a caress to not have to walk a lot and we did all the trails quickly and without much effort, but it really did not impress me, because for me the biggest attraction of the place is the park itself and its lush nature, in the rest very little thing caught my attention.
I also highlight as a negative point the lack of options for places to snack and lunch, because the few existing places are either always overcrowded or have nothing more to offer visitors.
Worth the visit and to get to know, I especially did not like it, but it is at the discretion of each...

Unmissable visit. Even on a rainy day we managed to enjoy it a lot. Renting a stroller is essential. Even renting the stroller, we walked 12 km without feeling it. The beauty of the place, the gardens, the galleries, the experience is unique.
All galleries cannot be missed. The interactives are wonderful. the one we liked most was Kusama, Lygia Pape and Cildo Meireles.
As we went on a rainy day and it was a bit difficult to get around due to the weather, we chose to eat at the Hamburgueria which would be quicker. It was delicious.
We don't think it's a very easy place for people with mobility difficulties or very young children.

I was there 7 years ago and went back this year. Only one new installation. All the artwork has been there for at least a decade. The installations look dirty, dusty. The park looks abandoned, the pools and lakes are murky. The pieces of art are extremely far from each other. You just can't visit all of them (they are not that many, they are just spread out) by foot. They park could easily have a couple of cute trolleys running around to take people to the attractions. It's definitely not worth walking for miles to visit the galleries.

Recognized as the largest open-air museum of contemporary art in the world, with almost 800 hectares of art, nature, architecture, galleries, living area, botany, restaurant and snack bar.
It is divided into 3 sectors: yellow axis, pink axis and orange axis, there is an option to pay for internal transportation on pre-determined routes, for the tour.
Tip: To appreciate everything the museum has to offer it takes at least two days of visit. It was missing for us to visit the rose axis, which in a timely date we will finish, if God wills.

That the gardens are wonderful, I have no doubt. However, for those who don't know anything about art, like me, there is a lot of walking, few and expensive meal options. I went on a hot day and left exhausted without having seen even half of it, but also with no interest in walking further and seeing more of the same. Few bathrooms and few drinking fountains.
