Just back from a wonderful tour with our guide Jackie. What a lovely person, so knowledgable and enthusiastic about the flora and fauna of the area and the heritage of the glens folk who once lived there. Her love of the place really shone through and made for an amazing tour. We managed to see a red kite, hen harrier and red squirrel among others. It was wonderful to see the raptors up close. The cul of tea and picnic was very nice and very welcome. I would thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn more about this beautiful glen and about its people.

What brilliant value for money, my wife and I had a wonderful day with our guide Jackie exploring Glen Esk. Jackie managed to find a Golden Eagle soaring on thermals, the beginning's of stag's rutting, many different species of birds, Meadow Pippets to various species of Grouse and lots of information about the fauna amongst spectacular scenery. We learned so much about the area. We enjoyed a lovely picnic lunch amongst the mountains by a babbling river. Thanks so much for a wonderful day, highly recommended.

Went on the full day tour with a picnic, my husband and Andy Malcolm our guide. I could not rate this tour high enough! Exploring places I didn't even think accessible, Andy navigated the Landrover Defender along tracks, through fields and finally almost completely to the bottom of the waterfall where we stopped and had our picnic lunch (He did reckon he could have even got a bit closer). His knowledge along with his friendly and engaging personality gave us an insight to some of our Scottish scenery and wildlife that frankly, I thought I'd seen it all! I was very wrong and this part of the Scottish landscape offers things you don't see any where else in Scotland. It is a hidden gem that I would highly recommend investigating. The tour price may seem a bit high but until you have been and seen for yourself, it is hard to convey how it is worth every penny! If you are new to Scotland, or even, like me, you have been born and bred here, this is a part of the world that will take your breath away.

We took the half day secrets of the Glen trip. Our tour guide Jackie facilitated simply the best tour trip. It would be easy to fill this page with superlatives but that would dilute the sincerity of our review. To put this into context Glen Esk is just stunning and the weather on the day could not have been better, that said neither match Jackie's knowledge and passion for the Glen's wild life and it's heritage. We got lucky and saw some wonderful wild life, Red Deer, Red Squirrels, Woodcocks with chicks, Curlews and Ring Ouzels, to name a few, and for Scotland even an open parasol was observed :-). Jackie is a skilled 4x4 driver and took us off into parts of the Glen we would not have otherwise seen, she recommended some walks in the area and gave us the back story to what would otherwise been unfathomable relics from a bygone age. To sustain us a picnic hamper was produced with more than we could eat locally sourced snacks. We suspect that the time table was not strictly observed as we soaked up both the sun and Jackie's knowledge of the Glen. In conclusion this was an enriching experience. If this is your sort of thing you wont find a better guide or location.

Joined two friends and did the half day Tour with Andy, the Head Keeper on the Invermark Estate. I had not arranged it so did not really know what it was all about. But had the most wonderful day. The sun shone all the time (not guaranteed!), the scenery was spectacular, Andy was the perfect host/driver and the picnic with freshly baked scones was a bonus. We saw red deer, mountain hares, golden eagles and lots of birdlife but the best part, for me, was the peace and quiet and the setting. I thought I knew Angus quite well but this really was off the beaten track. I learned a lot about game conservation and wildlife and it was all just such fun! The land rover ride was quite a bone-shaker. Our half day lasted much longer than half a day and was good value. Afterwards we stopped at The Retreat for a cup of tea and some excellent freshly baked cakes.
