Enjoyed a day on Souda bay with the pirate ship Black Pearl. Three different spots for swimming on the bay plus a visit to Malakiti Bay, which had a wonderful small sand beach. The pirate activities kept our daughter busy during the swimming stops. With 25% less participants it would have been even more enjoyable. Now it was rather tight, but still within limits.

Took a full day out on the Black Pearl as part of a TUI pirate themed excursion.
Very nice to swim in the turquoise blue waters and walking the plank was fun.
The prices on board are very reasonable.
We had so much fun and would definitely recommend this to anyone.

I would recommend getting to the boat quite early to get a seat, they really cram people onto the boat like cattle.
However, once arriving at the destinations this won't matter at all; these are some of the most beautiful places I have ever been to and it is worth every penny.

We booked the pirate tour via our hotel. We drove there ourselves (we paid euro22 adult , euro11 for a kid) with our rental car but you can also be picked up (people on the boat sitting next to me paid euro 42 or 47 I believe). Our lunch was not included. Lunch on the boat was not much I have to say , some cold meat on a stick or bad pizza , but he! what do expect from a pirate chef ?!?!? But plenty of cold drinks and ice cream on board too . We made three stops to swim and relax. There were also some games for the kids and some kids entertainment during this trip. All in all a nice day out with swimming on nice locations to cool down on a hot Greek summer day .

This full day tour on the pirate boat 'the Black Pearl' is ideally done with children < 4 years. There is some animation on the boat, al though I'd expected more for the price of the day trip. Afterwards, I heard that booking via the tour operator/hotel was much much more expensive, then booking directly with the company.
Also, the lunch was very, very light, I'd recommend to bring some more food along since a lot of the attendants were not satisfied at all with the 'pirate lunch'.

Anyhow, there are some short activities (mini treasure hunt, battle with swords, jumping in bags), but I wished there was more to do, especially the first part of the travel.

The time free on the beach is nice, a quiet place for the children to play and swim.

Nice trip, but expensive for what it is.

We enjoyed our cruise to Gramvousa Island and Balos Beach. We went in mid-September, so possibly not as busy as when other reviewers went, but did not find it overly crowded. We thought the time ion Gramvousa was adequate to visit the Venetian fort, although probably not long enough to swim as well. However, I recommend going to see the fort, as you can swim to your heart's content at Balos Beach. It is quite a trek up the mountain, especially on a hot day, and decent shoes/sandals are to be recommended (although my wife over 50 managed fine in her havaianas!). I had to chuckle at a previous reviewer complaining that the staff did not make it sufficiently clear to them that the climb was a bit tough. Honestly, use your eyes! Balos Beach itself was also beautiful, with a choice between bathing in a shallow warm lagoon or on the ocean-facing beach on the opposite site of the sand bar. The cruise is about an hour each way, and I wished I had brought some reading material along. Food and drink on board is adequate, without being great. I found the staff friendly and helpful enough and was very grateful to the gentleman who noticed that my sunglasses had fallen off my hat into the ice-cream freezer and retrieved them for me! (Doh!)

All in all, it was an enjoyable day out and worth the cost of E28 per head (inl tourist levy of E1).

We booked this through Our Rep from Thomson Holidays and paid 135 euros for 2 Adults and 1 child of 8.
I am not sure via Thompson Holidays we got value for money as others seemed to have Paid €22.5 each. Not sure if that included the coach pickup/drop off. The boat is picked up from a navel port and motors not far out to a nice sheltered bay where you can swim in the sea. You then have an early lunch which was basically 2 small meat sticks with tomato and cucumber and a glass of squash. Not bad if you paid €22.5 each but not for €135. You then motor not very far around the corner to a nice beach where you can get some nice food at a good price. You get 3 hours here. You then motor around the corner where you can swim again. The kids games where ok but not all that. Photos of your kids with face paints and a pirate hat is good value at €5. You can buy food and drink onboard which is a good price also. 1.80 for a coke and 2.50 for a sub. You can get beer too. The captain was the funniest, with walking the plank. If I paid €22.5 each then great value, but at the price Thomson Charged I expected more than that and too fatty meat sticks and a boat that does not go very far, perhaps bit more class please Thomson. My advice is go but book direct.

A take a sea cruise to Souda.
It was awful. The small boat cause nausea. That because the sea their was agitated and open.
Additionally the promote that the boat get into sea caves. Nothing at all.
And the ticket? Expensive
The only good is a stop to a beach at the middle of the cruise.
