Easily The best trip we experienced within our stay in Zakynthos !! Highly recommend experiencing “the premium in three”
THANK YOU ATHENA ! We had the best day experiencing this wholesome and stunning winery . As they showed us the love, hard work and history of this long lived family winery as they still continue doing the family traditions until this day . After the winery tour , you go through to the tasting where we tasted 8 premium wines , accompanied by local cheeses , meats , oiled bread . I’m not a cheese lover and yet I couldn’t take my hands of this cheese board , which was placed out beautifully with so much and thought ! The wines were the best wines ive ever tasted , we loved every single of them 😂 of course we had our favourites also and couldn’t leave without taking a bottle . It was worth every single penny and you get so much more for what you pay . It was a pleasure to spend the day with you guys Thank you again Callinico winery for your time , love and generosity .

    Nothing special.
The tour was boring. I think it was the guys first time at doing it. It was poorly organised. The wines are not great. The only decent one was the white dessert wine. I’m glad it wasn’t more than the 3 Euros each we paid. Unless you’re doing it as part of a wider tour I wouldn’t bother.

    Excellent wine tasting experience.
From the quiet, historical location, to the interactive and informative tour, this was an awesome experience all around. Upon arrival we were greeted by Marios who began our private tour of the winery. Marios was attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and very passionate. He walked us through the growing procedures of various grapes and showed us both new and historic ways of pressing, aging, storing, and bottling their wines. The preservation of Callinico Winery is fascinating and we loved the history and heritage that came with this tour. Onto the tasting. We were met with six beautiful and unique wines and Marios guided us through the aromas and bouquets of each. They were all spectacular. Paired with the charcuterie board, each took us on a delightful journey on the nose and on the palette. We would highly recommend this tour, especially the private one we did. We’ve done tours in Napa and Santorini and Callinico offered personalization that stood out above the rest. We went home with a couple of bottles and cannot wait to pop them. Cheers!

Worth a visit but hard to get to without a car
Turned up on spec and were allowed to wander around the museum which had some interesting exhibits before having a comprehensive tasting session of the wide variety of wines. The young lady providing the tastings was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We bought several bottles including the Avgoustiatis which was superb. Our only issue was accessibility and we ended up spending around £35 on taxis.

    Beautiful place with good service
Beautiful and traditional winery with a rich history of making quality wines. Marios gave us really nice and cosy tour with some professional wine tasting in the end! Might be easier to go with a rental car since we paid 20€ for 3,5km ride by taxi.

    Disappointed visitor
The tour was very short and lacked any atmosphere. The guide brought our group through the processing plant and gave his speech with less than half of the group present. The information given on the dozen wines out for tasting lacked any real information on nose flavour etc. it was more about selling than tasting. So much history and information on processing available but not used. Disappointed.

Affordable wine tasting and free museum experience.
Great variety of wines, we paid 5€/person for wine tasting and we got 6 wines, which is very good for the price. The wines were all very good, stuff was friendly and knew a lot about the wines. The museum is free. Overall would recommend!

    Highly recommend!
My wife booked a tour and wine-tasting while on holiday in Zakynthos. Honestly I wasnt expecting much as neither of us are wine connesuers. We do enjoy a glass of wine here and there, but we know nothing about wine :) Marios started the tour and showed us the vineyard and the whole process of how they pick the grapes and produce the wine. It was really cool to see the old machinery and learn how production was in the old days and then to see the new modern ways. He also showed us their vintage bottles and it was actually amazing to learn how old some bottles were and how they test the aging of the wine. At the end of the tour, we were sat down at a table with lovely cold-cut meats, bread and cheese that were so delicious! We were introduced to four wines. We were actually quite nervous at this point because being the noobs that we are, and Marios sat across from us ready to teach us (and we just wanted some wine). He was so knowledgable about each wine and we actually learned so much! We had so many questions (which we didnt think we would have). There was no pressure from Marios to buy bottles, he seemed to actually enjoy showing us and enlightening us about the winery and its wines. We enjoyed the tour and wine tasting so much, we bought 1 bottle to take back to the hotel. Right before writing this review, we put in an order for a few bottles to be shipped here to Iceland, a few christmas gifts and also to enjoy ourselves. We obviously recommend Callinico Winery. So enjoy and say hello to Marios for us! ;)

One of the best wine experiences Ive ever had. I would 100 percent recommend this to anyone even if you have little experience of wines, from start to finish we were treated like VIPs. We were greeted by a member of the family (Yanis I think his name was) and taken on a beautiful tour of the winery and he answered all our questions and let us explore ourselves. The way the tour is designed is simple and interesting. We were then brought in for a wine tasting and the wines were some of the nicest I have ever and will ever taste along with stunning cheeses and breads from a local shop (which when we asked about where to get it they kindly brought us to), we had to bring so home some of the wine and I was so happy to see they deliver worldwide. I hope I get to go back again and see it. We booked the Premium 3 tour and it was a truly unforgettable experience.

Tip:to book we requested a booking the previous day on there website.

We had the best time doing a private premium tour and tasting at this winery. It was 15 euros each and we had a personal tour from a fourth generation wine maker and then a tasting of ten different, and very delicious, wines. We would absolutely recommend this. It is a family business and they are so welcoming and friendly. This was one of the highlights of our holiday!

We saw a bus trip come in and it was busy and crowded. A private tour gives you time to really enjoy the experience and to learn about the wines. It was fantastic value! Definitely worth an hour of your time whilst on Zakynthos - and it’s so nice to take local wines home as gifts!

It's unfair to come back from your holidays without visiting the best Traditional Winery of Zakynthos. It is located at the small village of Kalipado. As visitors, we had the opportunity to see the original machines used in the past as well as the modern equipment used today. Finally, after the tasting experience of a selection of 15 traditional wines, we bought Verdea which is a dry white wine, the typical wine of Zakynthos(the product price is 10 euro)
