Great visit

Really great visit to see people with very special belief in Christianity, you look over history of those people and how they reached Ohio.

The tour was very dissapointing. Amish life and customs sederve much more than a number of rooms with random artifacts, with very shallow explanations. The so-called farm tour is a couple of stalls with various animals and two stores.

Staying in Philadelphia, the tour was booked through Big Bus company, who pick-up passengers from respective hotels and drop off at 30th street station to board the Amtrak train for ~ 2 hours to Lancaster County. Pre-arranged taxi pick-up at destination and roughly a 20 mins drive to the 1st stop. Jacob's choice is a short film, with special effects,... More

If you do nothing else in the USA make sure you visit this area and spend a few days. We were lucky enough to visit two families on their farms and to talk freely about Amish life. We were all surprised that the truth is nothing like it is reported in the press. Very impressed and thanks again to the... More

Such a peaceful atmosphere. Definitely takes you away and makes you appreciate the diversity of our country. Check out the markets, buggy rides, and shops. Great place to travel to.

Bring insect repellent, water bottle, walking shoes, jacket. Very interesting way of life - simpler times, plain, farms, crops, shops, farmers markets. Took a bus tour for a narration of the Amish history and religious beliefs.

Richard our guide took us to see the Amish people. We had a buggy ride and leart about there life from a retired Amish farmer. We loved every bit of it. Even the home made cookies. Our tour took us back to Kitchen Kettle Village where we had the most delicious home made ice-cream. The quilting is beautiful. Could highly... More

My family and I spent a day touring around the Amish country. First we looked at a replica of how they live. We took the bus tour out into the country where they work and the children play. At least the younger children played. An adult ticket was $21.00 and children $12.00. The tour lasted 90 minutes and was well... More

What a beautiful place. Bird-in-hand is such a lovely little village. Great shops, friendly people. Its so amazing to see the Amish in their buggies galloping down the roads. They do wave to you and are friendly. The farms are huge and so well kept. Its amazing they do this with all old fashioned tools and horses. Well worth a... More
