Buffulo bay is my recommendation, if one wants to stay on ko Phayam , no large waves, no surfing , but the water has a better color and is more clear then on long beach . Take note, that Ko Phayam does NOT offer any opportunity to snorkel ! The bay is surrounded by lush green trees, with many options to watch horn bill birds.

We visited this beach many times and enjoyed every time! Nice for walking on the beach or eat lunch or dinner. Perfect for watching the sunset!

there is no better place on earth than in front of the sea, under a shady tree. Both sides of the bay are framed with lush green tropical hills and there are some boats anchored, gently swaying on the light swell. No houses in sight, very few people on the beach, but no loungers, no beach umbrellas, no plastic washed ashore. And when the sun settles down you will see some lights from the beach bars, but there is no disco sound and no big party going on (some exceptions accepted). Swimming in the sea is possible even at low tide - enjoy.

Was here during rain/low season so had my share of rainy and sunny days and empty beach! Some nice swings around, the bay is lovely to watch from the sand or your balcony, esp at sunset. Bring a cold drink from your hotel and take in the amazing colors. Swimming is great in the deepest part of the bay as it's protected by a reef, but like anywhere in thailand, watch for rips and swim to your ability when it's safe. Hornbills and monkeys come by, as well as the resident dogs that will be your friends and frisbee mates when you want. Very chill and peaceful.

Buffalo Bay is two miles of pure sand leading into clean water. There is no pollution here and no litter on the beach. What a change from the rest of South East Asia. Even in high season this beach is not crowded. As you walk along the beach you can take your choice of numerous bars and restaurants. You will be spoiled for choice. And you will be sure to come back.
