there is no better place on earth than in front of the sea, under a shady tree. Both sides of the bay are framed with lush green tropical hills and there are some boats anchored, gently swaying on the light swell. No houses in sight, very few people on the beach, but no loungers, no beach umbrellas, no plastic washed ashore. And when the sun settles down you will see some lights from the beach bars, but there is no disco sound and no big party going on (some exceptions accepted).
Swimming in the sea is possible even at low tide - enjoy.

Buffalo Bay is our favorite beach at Koh Phayam. Much smaller than Long Beach, but more beautiful. Not so many restaurants open this time due to covid, but enough for us.
Looking forward to see more places open next time.

Was here during rain/low season so had my share of rainy and sunny days and empty beach! Some nice swings around, the bay is lovely to watch from the sand or your balcony, esp at sunset. Bring a cold drink from your hotel and take in the amazing colors. Swimming is great in the deepest part of the bay as it's protected by a reef, but like anywhere in thailand, watch for rips and swim to your ability when it's safe. Hornbills and monkeys come by, as well as the resident dogs that will be your friends and frisbee mates when you want. Very chill and peaceful.

Buffalo Bay is two miles of pure sand leading into clean water. There is no pollution here and no litter on the beach. What a change from the rest of South East Asia. Even in high season this beach is not crowded. As you walk along the beach you can take your choice of numerous bars and restaurants. You will be spoiled for choice. And you will be sure to come back.

There's nothing to add to what's been written in other reviews. We sought a beautiful beach with restaurants/bars on the beach and found it in Buffalo Bay. I would consider staying here, too.

Buffalo Bay is actually two stretches of beach separated by a rocky headland. The beach fronting Buffalo Bay Vacation Club only permits swimming during high tide, while the part called Heaven Beach has deeper water levels and you can swim all day. There's a mangrove forest which can be explored during low tide. Both sections enjoy an extremely relaxed atmosphere with food and drinks available in various beachfront restaurants and "Reggae" bars dotted along the waterfront.

Buffulo bay is my recommendation, if one wants to stay on ko Phayam , no large waves, no surfing , but the water has a better color and is more clear then on long beach . Take note, that Ko Phayam does NOT offer any opportunity to snorkel ! The bay is surrounded by lush green trees, with many options to watch horn bill birds.

Buffalo Bay is the best beach in Koh Phayam, Itselfvery big and with not do many tourists. The water iceberg cleansed it's also good for snorkeling in the right side off the bay.

To be honest it was hard to navigate how to get there because there are no streets on Koh Phayam, so at times you think its the driveway to a resort .. but in fact that sandy path is the actual street .. or path.
Didn't like the extreme low tide at BB... some folks might like that .. I didn't
