2X Aventures canoes rental is on the Oloron Gave (Pyrenees river) in the south west of France. On calm water or white water, for 1/2 day or full day or two days, explore the richness of one of the latest french wild river. Family or friends, for everyone who knows how to swim, 5 years old minimum, minors must be with an adult. Canoes, kayaks, stand up paddle and raft with a guide, it's up to you!

This was our fourth visit to 2X Adventures and we had another excellent trip. We did the 20km trip and the guide made it very enjoyable and ensured our safety through the rapids. The equipment is first class and my son loved the cliff jump! I would highly recommend this company for a canoe trip for beginners.

What an adventure!
We are a family of 5, and had 2 half days trip on the river, within a group of 14 people.
The ride down the river was wonderful, and we loved the organization and concept.
We slept on the shore, preparing food on self made wood fire and learned how to set up hammock in the forest. The rest of the night was just about feeling the moment and opening up to the rest of the people of our expedition.
The guide has been very helpful, showing us around with patience and kindness. The scenery was outstanding, pure nature with basically no man made elements around.
It is rare ride and a simple experience that I really recommend.

Having canoed here before we booked in advance via their website.
We opted for the 20km trip and yet again were supplied with good quality equipment. We had a gui de for the first section of the trip who navigated us through the small sections of rapids to ensure we avoided any hidden dangers.
We had been given two waterproof barrels for our lunch and valuables and stopped on the river bank to enjoy a picnic.
It was a wonderful day out, with beautiful scenery and nice change from the beach.
The staff are very friendly and helpful.
We enjoyed it so much, we hope to squeeze in another day of canoeing before we head home.

Wanted a day away from Biarritz, and chose 2X Aventures for a two-hour canoe / kayak trip. Arnold and his family are excellent hosts, and the river is absolutely beautiful. We paddled in two kayaks with our 8 and 10-year old boys, both of whom loved the trip, and playing afterward. I would recommend this trip to anyone visiting Biarritz / Bayonne who wants a break from the beach, beautiful scenery, and an epic slice of rural France.

We drove 1 hour to go kayaking. We arived on thursday 11:00. THEY WERE CLOSED!. On the site and on google it said open. Garbage.

Dear Sir,
We are deeply desappointed to find out your experience.
Going on our official website, 2xaventures.com, you could know that because of the weather conditions and the snow melting during the spring sometimes there are some floods.
In this case, for some safety reasons, we close the activity and our office.
From April to July, and in september, our desk is only open wednesday, saturday and sunday.
From June to the end of August we are open 7/7.
Our call center stay opened to reply for any enqueries and our Facebook page is connected to messenger.
Hitting the road for 1 hour without enquerying any possibilities is potentialy hazardous.
Garbage is the good word to qualify this kind of experience.
We do regreat you get a bad google experience.
My TripAdvice is :
Don't always believe in Google, we don't work for it.... Try to call us, we work for you.

Just had a great day out here with my family. Children are 9 & 11. We just completed the 9km course which was a good 3 hours. Staff are great and helpful, equipments is excellent. I would highly recommended it for a family day out. Do not be put off by the term “rapids” they are easy to navigate and the kids will love them!

We found this gem last year and returned this year for the 16km and 20km trips.
You drive to their base and get fitted with life jackets and given a waterproof barrel for your lunch and valuables. You are then driven to your start point and start your journey back to the base by canoe.
The river and scenery is beautiful and there are some fun "rapids" along the way. The equipment is great, the staff are very helpful and the whole set up if fantastic.
I cannot recommend a day out with 2x Adventures highly enough if you are a novice at canoeing and want to do something different. We will be back if we venture to this corner of France again. Thank you.

Nice set up, friendly welcome. We said we were experienced canoeing, and were quite surprised how calm the river was. We have been regular canoeists on holidays and were surprised that the a boost in sauveterre had closed.
The reason that only 3 stars is that we requested two singles and one double when booking only the day beforehand, and advised only had ten singles so might miss out, well all ten were sitting there and not being used, so thought we'd be lucky but no they stayed there in dry dock. Bit of a shame as we could have used them after all. Also feel that they should have warned us that we would be bit bored if looking for an adventure. Very good for inexperienced, but watch out, hard work when the river does not move much.

Thanks for sharing your experience from the canoe rental company 2X AVENTURES.
As you said, you are experienced canoeing people, practicing rafting in Sauveterre de Béarn with the rafting company Abost.
Our logistical policy is to keep our single canoes for odd number groups.
As you have mentionned it, the river is far from sensationnal or extrem as rafting on white water, that's why there's no guide secure your journey and, our prices are different than rafting.
You're comparing rental canoieng and guided rafting.I do agree with you, our canoeing descent are for inexperienced people and the river does not move much.
I hope you've enjoyed our countryside.

Being in my mid 50s I thought I might struggle with the experience but it was great fun indeed and I am not even sore the next day. gentle river (the odd very mild 'rapid') beautiful views to be had along the way. the young couple that run the business is well organized and very helpful. good equipment and lots of fun! Great day out!

We had been looking for a canoe trip company close to Dax and were lucky to find this after a friend recommended it. We opted for the 11km trip first time and found the staff to be helpful and very well organised. All the equipment provided was very good quality and perfect for our needs. The river is beautiful and the few "rapids" brought smiles to my sons faces. We loved it so much we booked the longer 16km Escos trip for three days later. We were spoilt with a scorching day and stopped to swim in the clear clean river water a couple of times.
We all had aching arms by the end of the 16km trip so we're glad we had broken ourselves in with the shorter trip to start.
When we head back to this corner of France again we will definitely be booking further trips with them.
